You may be right about the missing battery. My charger won't turn on unless the battery is attached and within acceptable limits.

I think jStan is the only user of the Oz Cougar to have any significant distance under their belt - and after blowing 1 or 2 up. I've heard from someone I respect that after blowing up 2 Oz Cougars themselves that their next step was to try the UK version with IGBTs. (Hopefully they'll comment) Woo...

All of my cells and bolts were M8. Yes I did use a bottom tap and die to clean up the threads. It took about 3 hours and was very tiring.

When I first connected up my SE cells I had a lot of problems with bolt and terminal threads, so I re-threaded all the bolts and cells. It then went together well with no HR joints. With the number of cells you guys have that should keep you busy for a while http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley2...

The CAN protocol states the following Operation Mode 1. BMS send operating information (Message 1) and (Message 10+Message 11+Message 12) to charger at fixed intervals of one second. After receiving the message, the charger will work under the Voltage and Current in Message. If the Message is not re...

Questions on Elcon/TC chargers
The battery output terminals are completely isolated from the AC input and ground. The control terminals are not isolated from the battery -ve, so you will have to isolate your control circuits. I just drive mine with an opto.

Questions on Elcon/TC chargers
Here's a link to the CAN protocol. Ah, Don, I see from your blog that you have one of these chargers. Did it come with a 7-pin plug, or did you have to chase around and figure out where to buy one? Did you get the CAN option? If so, you could tell us what the connector is. How does your open-source...

It's nearly that time of the month again, so what's the topic for next meeting on the 19th May? Any other ideas? ...
