I just got a follow up with some specs
Range - up to 5-6 klms
speed - doesnt matter as long as its faster than walking pace
passengers - up to 5
That's making it a lot harder.
I don't think the cost of a golf cart is going to make a lot of difference to these people.

EV For Ecovillage Currumbin
I just received the following email from Currumbin Ecovillage requesting assistance with sourcing an EV. First thoughts were to suggest a golf buggy. Does anybody else have any suggestions for them? Don "I’m currently employed by Landmatters PTY LTD who are currently the developers selling land at t...

Monthly meeting
It was originally planned to have the meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, but due to a clash with another booking, it's now been changed to the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:00PM to 9:30PM at the Albion Peace Centre.

Going Green Expo 2009
Well the Going Green Expo has come and gone and it was a great success for the AEVA. It was quiet on Friday but on Saturday and Sunday, we had a lot of people showing interest in the association. We were set up right next to the Lexus stand with some prestige vehicles on display, but the majority of...

My mistake, I could only find an Altium package for the 2002 and I forgot to change the comment, the original bom has the 6002s, schematic has been updated.

Adam's design had the face of the mosfets against the heat sink not the metal tab. It would have lasted about 2uSecs under full load. He also hasn't done any thermal calculations. I don't think I will be waiting for any more innovations from that source.

Latest circuits for the controller are at Control board and Power board I should have the new board layouts completed in about a week. New functions include a motor overspeed detector, battery voltage monitor, spare relay output driver, spare analog / digital input or output. There will also be a so...

mcudogs I am a complete novice so do not know how you make the power board, I understand that Paul is using a mill machine, it would be a bit unreasonable to ask him to mill the boards for everone who wants one. If you are able to produce them here in aus that would solve one problem that I can thi...

All of the components are through hole not surface mount. I have been following the thread for a while now and the design looks to be fairly mature. There are a few qualified designers working in the background backing up Paul's hard work. I have put my hand up to do a PCB layout for the power secti...

Don's Mazda 121 Conversion
I spoke to an auto gear box specialist today about removing the torque converter and coupling the electric motor to the box. He agreed it does work and said I just have to find the right pump and accumulator / pressure switch to keep the pressure up when the motor has stopped rotating. He suggested ...

I agree totally, it's hard to show that EV grin if your dead. The workshop manual just arrived and my 1st major disappointment with it. It looks like there were 2 types of AT supplied with this car. A 4 speed electronically controlled box with TC lockup and a 3 speed mechanically controlled box. It ...

Thanks for the warning. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley9.gif I took a fair bit of care when putting it on the stands to make sure it was centered on each stand and then gave it a couple of good pushes from all angles before I got under it. I just read on another forum that you should use a ...

Yes it's very bright blue, a bit girly, but the thing I love about these cars are that they are like a small panel van when you fold up the rear seats. Tons of storage room and you can still seat 5. The plans are to keep the original gear box including TC and either idle the motor or provide an exte...

Don's Mazda 121 Conversion
Hi Everybody, I have just started my 1st conversion. It's a 1998 Mazda 121 automatic hatchback. I bought the donor vehicle last weekend had it weighed, measured the ground clearance on each wheel and put her up on stands so I can start work removing all of the bad stuff. Engine, fuel tank etc. I hav...

I am interested in coming to the meeting. I don't have an EV yet, still in the planning stages. With the amount of options out there I think it's going to be a long process. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley5.gif I suppose I should just jump in and do a simple DC/LA conversion first to get me...
