Re: LABOR PROMISES ELECTRIC CAR PROJECT IN LATROBE VALLEY
Yes, why reinvent the wheel ... find a good van that can be converted "economically" into a viable electric delivery van. Not many vans do more that 200kms a day, do they? Maybe they can add a range extender ...

Re: MY FIRST BIG BLADE PROBLEM
I wonder if the auxiliary battery might have died, or become weak. Perhaps the steering pump controller decided that the battery wasn't up to the load. Mike, that's an interesting suggestion ... the aux battery seems to be the cause of many of the Blade's idiosyncrasies ... In my case, the low batt...

Re: MY FIRST BIG BLADE PROBLEM
I LOVE the quirkiness of my Blade Electron ... all of the sudden, the "keys left in ignition" warning started working ... never had before or since ... not that it is ever an issue, because you can't lock the keys in the car ...

Re: MY FIRST BIG BLADE PROBLEM
Well, I went to jump in my (usually) trusty Blade to struggle to a nearby town this morning … thought I’d take another look under the bonnet … and noticed a tiny slide clip had come off … popped in back on … bingo! Off and running … still went to the nearby town and give Scott a drive around town … ...

MY FIRST BIG BLADE PROBLEM
OK, so it only has 20,000k on the clock, but it is 10 years old ... Yesterday, the Auxiliary Motor didn't kick in on "launch" ... usually gives that nice satisfying whine as it gets up to speed. This runs the power steering, I guess, because i felt like I was in my old car from high school ... like ...

Re: HOW LARGE CAN I CHARGE?
Yes, the charge socket on the EV is a J1772 ... Type 1 ... I also have a Type 1 to Type 2 adapter and a Phase 3 step down to Phase 1 adapter. I'm becoming a Boy Scout late in life ... I'm also thinking about putting an EV bowser on the solar house ... maybe a Cylon, because I was a big BG fan. I bel...

HOW LARGE CAN I CHARGE?
My 2008 Blade Electron is basically a Model T EV. Can some clever clogs tell my how high I can go with a charger? If it has a Type 1 connection ... J1772 ... will my battery management system handle it? I mean, a wall plug is the base line ... 10 - 15 amps ... but can I plug into the system at Euroa...

OFF THE SHELF RANGE EXTENDING BATTERY SETS
I live "out of town" and there aren't that many charging points between me and the big city. I'd like to be able to buy or organise a battery/inverter system like this bloke (in the video) that I can drop in the boot when I plan on trying to go beyond the distance ... a safety ... a fallback ... the...

Re: EV Sticker for Number Plates
I asked at VicRoads when I re-registered my Blade Electron from NSW to Victoria a few days ago ... and he didn't have a clue ... and there was nothing on his computer. I found this on eBay ... made in SA ... but illustrated using a Victorian number plate ... I bought them before I realised Bryce had...

Hi Randall - email sent. Schematics and owner manual for Mk5 sent. Cheers. Bryce Thank you so much! Not that I will ever do any tinkering myself, they are nice to have. I have been in touch with two BEV engineers who still live here in Castlemaine who want to take a look at it. I believe it is actu...

Re: THE BLADE ELECTRON MANUAL PDF
According to one of the Blade engineers who still lives here in Castlemaine, this is the next to last manual that was produced. Of course, the Electron also came with a Hyundai manual.

RETROFIT SOUND GENERATOR FOR EV?
Has anyone found a digital sound generator that can be retrofit to an EV? I’ve nearly been skittled by hybrids in EV mode ... and sadistic neighbor with a Tesla S. Most new EVs have them as they are required by law in some countries.
