I think they may suppress the leading zeros - try it on a low voltage - like coming from your body, by touching the input terminals.

Digital ammeter setup

I was suggesting resistors A, B and C all in series across the shunt. The ammeter is fed from where the resistor A connects to the shunt (on the LOAD side) and the other side directly from the wiper of the pot. "A" is 8K2 (8.2K ohm) "B" is the 5k trim pot and "C" is the 3K3 (3.3K ohm) resistor. The t...

Digital ammeter setup

Hi Chris, For the ammeter, place a voltage divider across the current shunt. Say, a 5K (or equiv combo) and a 10k resistor in series and have your meter across the 10K resistor. Or if you want to calibrate it: 3K3 (3.3K ohm) in series with a 5k trim pot and then a 8K2 (8.2K ohm) resistor, connecting...

Zivan NG3 LiFePo4 36cell Charger - For Sale

Mic Chapman (AEVA Adelaide) has a Zivan NG3 LiFePo4 36cell Charger for sale. see full details here: Zivan 35cell LiFePO4 Charger - On Gumtree This is brand new - still in the box (so to speak). This was programmed for 36 LiFePO4 cells (would suit 90Ah/100Ah with out adjustment. The output voltage ha...

Problem TC Charger

You mentioned that you measured all the cells that you could get to. You really need to access all of the cells to know what's going on. All you need is one cell to be cactus and that will upset the charger, as they are all in series. This is a major problem which requires access to all cells and m...

... the batteries were very low having sat for 1 year being only connected to BMS cell modules. ... Hi Jonathan, I think you'll find the charger is probably OK and the problem will be with the lithium cells. Having the BMS modes connected for a year has flattened them, possibly below the minimum vo...

Simple Precharge Circuit

Hi Christopher, Great circuit. I can see one possible problem... If the ignition switch is turned to Start before the Precharge LED goes out, the current through the LED may increase to more than it should because of the connection via the Latch relay coil (depending on the coil resistance). Another...

Hi Bryce, The way I do it is to do a post mentioning the photos and then go into that post and then go to "Post Options" and then select "Edit Post" - there is a spot there to "Upload Image". I have done this with a few of the photos I took on the day. If anyone wants anything else specific - please...

TESLA Model S Test Drive...
I have placed a video I took from the back seat while Doug was driving and James from Tesla was explaining about the car.

Later, I had a drive and really tried the car's acceleration a few times, once I nearly lost traction - yeah!

Upgrade to Lithiums?

Paul, The question is: what is the maximum voltage your controller can take? You need to charge the cells to at least 3.65V per cell. If your controller can accept 34 x 3.65 volts then all you need is a new charger like the TC Charger. These have to be ordered for the precise number of cells and cel...

Upgrade to Lithiums?

Hi Paul,
Johny is right. Use 32 cells and then you won't strain your controller. Try your current charger and see how it goes. Ensure the BMS is setup to turn off the charger is it exceeds the maximum. Just monitor it at the end of charge.

You already have too many contactors and relays...
Ian Hooper (www.zeva.com.au) makes a precharge circuit. Just buy and install one of them.

As the circuit is now, if one of the Emergency stops is left open and then after trying to start is suddenly closed this will put full voltage straight on the controller. I suggest a HV sensing circuit, which via a resistor and the input of an optocoupler senses the HV and then a transistor output e...

The circuit shows the contactor in the centre of your pack running off ACC. In my car ACC is turned off while I go to START. It should be wired to IGN side of the switch. Does your radio go off when you switch to START? If it does this maybe the cause of your problems.

I would suggest to put it back so that you have to wait, but change the value of the resistor so that the time is only about 7 seconds (like mine). This amount of time is about how long it takes to get your seat belt on. If you have an override, it is too easy to make a mistake. Mine is wired so tha...
