Crowdfunding an L2 EVSE in Sydney outskirts
It's been talked about before, this thread is to gather numbers from people who are interested in crowdfunding an L2 EVSE in the outskirts of Sydney to make longer distance daytrips possible. I haven't got a price nor found sites for most of the places, I just wanted to gauge interest and find out i...

I bought mine from Jaycar and it's served its purpose very well. A few dollars cheaper, don't know the shipping cost to Perth:

If you don't want to risk spending so much for an experiment, what if a few of us pitch in for the cable and leave it at the mall's info desk? Maybe find a way to secure it to the charger or have a keypad locker next to it? Just ideas. I'd pitch in.

Nice to know there's a spot at Marulan, I've always wanted to drive to Canberra in my LEAF. I haven't decided if it's just a silly idea or something to try one day.

Unless there's been a change of plans I'm pretty sure I read elsewhere when the e-Golf was launched that it won't be available in Australia. I am okay with that since I sold my lemon Golf to get a LEAF! I don't think there are plans to bring the Spark EV here either. I hope the increase of EVs in ou...

Just as well you signed the opt-out clause, who knows what will happen after the 31st. The most recent buyer in our LEAF meet on the weekend reckons he test drove an upgraded LEAF because the boot was missing the hump where the charger is in the original model. When he enquired again later on he was...

Same, corridors and outskirts would be useful. If there's one somewhere between Sydney and Canberra it'll make driving interstate practical. Can't wait til that happens!

If you do a search for "emergency button cover" on eBay there are a few which might be suitable and won't be as time consuming and risky to install. I like the idea of painting the clear cover a matching blue colour and having "Emergency stop under cover" stenciled on in white. It'll look official a...

leaf GPS charging stations
Hi Gabz, It was great to meet you yesterday, hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did. I'm pretty sure the places are just stored in the car's GPS and not sent back to Nissan to be broadcasted. Places I've charged at in the past are still stored in mine. If I'm not mistakened the sites listed by N...

There's no chance the BP charger will accept a Chargepoint tag is there? I'll have a swipe with my Chargepoint tag if I can clear the fault code tomorrow.g4qber wrote: rang 1800800246 support number. goes to chargepoint Australia.

I've checked it's dead it's a Schneider unit. it's across the road from MacDonalds and only a short distance from the F3 the location is fine! Is it completely off or does it display an out of order message? I spoke to a council officer about it a few months ago he said that if the emergency stop i...

No, their 120 V is just centre tapped 240 V, much like ours. The only difference is that they earth the middle; we don't have a middle and earth one end instead. So if it doesn't work, it's not for that reason. Thanks coulomb, that's good to know. I didn't know it worked that way. I might try to ge...

I'm looking into buying an EVSE on the cheap for my LEAF. The Origin Chargepoint is ridiculously overpriced at close to $3k and I'm not keen on making my own in case I damage my car. I've seen photos of an AeroVironment EVSE charging a LEAF in Australia at two separate events. I'm wondering what's i...
