When the women who organises the bus rang me didn't tell me by coming early they would take my car off charge. So the afternoon ended up bein...

that's good it means there is a ~3kW charger on the outlander so 15amps maximum.1/2 hr later I'd got 1.55kWh and we were on our way.

I'm coming (RSVP'd fb), just don't count me as needing a powerpoint as I can do the round trip without charging. I can also do a coffee shop run on the day if required. Is there a good place for lunch or should we organise a BBQ onsite? (only if they have electric BBQ's lol!). I've got a camping st...

I'll check with the wife (who'll ring her mother who is office manger), last time fees was a couple dollars per car (so we could justify putting in a EVSE) . the main thing is because your recharging on powered sites it needs to not be very busy at the park. Hi Gabz, did you confirm whether the 3rd...

Betterplace started in Australia with type 2 with $500 for the cable and access to the network. chargepoint Australia only do type 1 because they only use a subset of chargepoint USA. this is already causing them issues with fast chargers as the fuji units require 200V 3 phase which means they have ...

Just to be clear, the fast charger will have two bays allocated to it - in the event that a Fast AC car AND a Fast DC car are charging at the same time. The level 2 charger will be available as a third parking bay. It's use will not interfere with the operation of the fast charger. The decision to ...

Sadly no. Renault said they won't bring the ZE fleet to Australia until more favourable federal EV policy was implemented. http://www.caradvice.com.au/242753/renault-zoe-wont-be-imported-without-government-support-and-sub-30000-pricing/ Which is pretty pissweak in my opinion, but that's the sum of ...

True, you would have to wait. You could have a second charger if the demand was there. Or, while you waited you could be getting a 3-7 kW charge from an adjacent level 2 point, and swap vehicles once the first car was done. not sure why you've gone back to type 1 considering all the sites will have...

Who charges with solar?
If you get a 5kw inverter, it would be worthwhile putting in 3kw north, 2kw east, 2kw west. that will keep the inverter maxed out all day, assuming you have the roof space most inverters only have at most 2 MPPT and you have at least 3 panel string inputs with 3 panel directions... so it's unlikely...

Sydney (ausgrid) is 5kW per phase limit so if you have 3 phase you can go higher. we have 3.27kW of sunpower. http://www.pvoutput.org/intraday.jsp?id=20008&sid=18568 and using the mobile cable on a 2012 we charge at ~2400W so if we are home and not using much else we can get most of the power into t...

I've had a number of conversations with Leaf salespeople over the past couple of months and every time I was told there are heaps of old stock ones gathering dust in a Melbourne warehouse. Whilst all sales staff to whom I've spoken claim they are 2012 versions, a bit of questioning revealed they we...
