Arduino cell cycle tester project

Are you going to program a rest period between the charge/discharge and discharge/charge cycles to allow the cell to settle each time?

Tesla X P90D vs Alpha 4C - kinda

Nice find Johny.

Wonder how many takes it took to get everything balanced correctly so they could give the Tesla X full beans.

Purpose built EV transmission

Only problem is GKN usually only sell these kinds of products to the OEM market. I tried to purchase an AFM-130 from them after they purchased EVO, no luck. They do have some aftermarket products though, I can get GKN driveshafts for my WRX, so there is some hope. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/s...

iMiEV - What to do with a write off

The point of this topic is that I'm pretty sure the car is worth more than that. I'm not sure how much more, so that's what I was hoping people here might have more of an idea about. Right now the best starting point for you would be to determine what type of write-off the vehicle has been register...

iMiEV - What to do with a write off

You would need to speak with your insurance company and tell them you want to keep the car. If they have factored the $1700 into their payout figure you will most likely have to pay them the $1700, which would simply mean they would deduct the amount from the payout figure to you. I would suggest th...

Rego discounts for EV?

There is another post on this forum regarding this question. In that discussion Gabz kindly pointed to the legislation for Victoria here :

currently sitting at $0.08 AUD per coin - more than some people would be getting for their feed in tariff I should correct my above comment, $0.08 AUD is for 1 MWh of generated electricity, not 1 kWh as the feed in tariffs would be paying, so the feed in tariffs are paying much more than the curren...

SolarCoin

Hey Chris, yes, time will tell with the SolarCoin prices, but it's a 40 year project and the price is slowly creeping in the right direction - currently sitting at $0.08 AUD per coin - more than some people would be getting for their feed in tariff, so definitely worth a look. The projected price is...

Thought I'd bring SolarCoin to people's attention for anyone who's not aware of it and may have an interest in digital currencies. You can find heaps of information and the SolarCoin wallet here: SolarCoin Basically the coin is designed to reward generation of electricity via PV installations to own...

Just guessing here, but judging by the wind up handle on the top I'd say it's some kind of mobility aid carrier.

EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

All valid points.

Unfortunately I'm out of ideas for now. I've been looking at some of the other leaning trike designs around the web and I'm yet to find one that doesn't use an IRS setup, like the following:

EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

If suspension was applied to diff, it would take the path of least resistance and try turn at the outside bearings. Isn't that what you're trying to achieve though? If the trike hits a bump with one wheel that side's suspension moves up, this in turn pushes on the rear frame which can pivot indepen...

EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

The battery cables go from the main pack at the front to the controller at the back. No problems there but when you try route the cable from the controller to the motor is where all hell breaks loose. What about passing the cables from the controller to the motor through the bearing centre on the r...

True. It's not a good example of what I was trying to explain either, so I've taken the liberty of copying one of the earlier pictures you posted and have tried to edit it to get across the idea I have: http://forums.aeva.asn.au/uploads/2723/Chassis_Oct_2013-1_-_EDIT.jpg Where I've drawn in red woul...

You probably have seen this already, but the tilting trike at the top of this page is the sort of idea I was going for:

EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

You beat me to it, I was about to say you if you can keep the battery pack part of the rear frame then the issue of cable movement/twist is negated. Each design has its merits. Your current design allows for the tilt of the whole trike so you may gain something from the CoG change as long as you can...

EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

Appreciate the pictures, makes it quite clear what you have in mind. My thought process was a little different, in that you could build a second frame which the front half and seat of the trike attaches to. This front frame would pivot around the rear frame (effectively the green frame in your pictu...

I'm not a bike person, so apologies if this is a stupid suggestion, but what about making the front half pivot around the rear frame? You could then control tilt (pivot) with a separate mechanism to that used for the rear suspension.

Found this short article on EV sales in Norway:

Makes any interesting point about incentives and market penetration for EVs when the price is right.
