Re: Kona EV Real World Range Experience

Thanks EVdownUnder and great stats reecho! More more more please! EVdownUnder I did find a TM3 SR+ driver on terrain similar from Perth to Busselton achieving 155Wh/km at 125kph with air-con. https://insideevs.com/news/355390/video ... ange-test/ 155Wh/100km at that speed and air-con is very impres...

Re: Kona EV Real World Range Experience

I should pick mine up on the 6th of September. Ceramic Blue Kona Highlander. As I am a full blown nerd, I will spreadsheet the "beep" out of that car. And share if anyone is interested. As a field service engineer, my current average daily drive is spot on 100km. I do drive like a grandma, my curre...

115Wh/km in the city and around 145Wh/km on the highway. My worst so far was 171Wh/km on an extended country trip with heavy rain, strong winds, standing water, elevation changes and mostly highway speeds.

Appears the charging bug is unique to AU and NZ cars. UK cars work fine. Hopefully resolved soon.

Yeah the first post is pretty inflammatory.

Cool story if you are a secret shopper on a mission but otherwise it's pointless.

But why stop at Hyundai?. Try Jaguar. See how you go.

Re: Hyundai Sales Tactics

Service costs for Kona are $165 a year which includes map updates, the Autolink Premium App and roadside assistance in the cost. For me it's good value when you roll all those things in. For that reason I would be struggling to justify taking it to Joe Blow's Motors for a service. Roadside Assistan...

Re: Hyundai Sales Tactics

If you want a froot or frunk or whatever that thing is in the front get a Tesla. It's definitely a froot. Glad to hear someone else using the term! There is so much space under the bonnet of a Kona, I wonder how long it will be before you can buy a bolt-in insert. Remove the dinky plastic cover thi...

Re: Hyundai Sales Tactics

So to start with, our question was as to whether Hyundai is going to release a Santa Fe sized EV, as the Kona an Ioniq are too small. To which he directs us to the Nexo, which isn't released in Australia, isn't an EV, but is "Better" because it runs on Hydrogen. However was lost for words when we a...

Re: Charging e-mail From Renault Australia

There's two things to mention with this... 1) . It's a blatant upsell for installing dedicated wallboxes with a thin veil of possible warranty issues if you use a low power EVSE. 2) . As the Zoe uses the motor inverter in reverse as the AC charger, it has inherent losses at low power levels. On a 10...

So I took the iPace for a drive the other weekend, and it was a nice car. Seats were nice, the screen was....average, but nice. Re: i-miev Chademo port part

Yes, it had one, but the main positive and negative pins are charred (and I think destroyed). I don't want to test that on a public charger and damage the charger. I've never had an impetus to replace it since there were no chademo chargers within range. P.S. Be careful with high voltage DC. Never ...

Hi all, I have a Kona Launch Model. The scheduled off peak charging does not charge within the charging window. I have tried different EVSE units. I have tried setting different times. Nothing. It either charges 7 - 8 pm or refuses to charge at all. Unscheduled charging works fine. Is anybody else ...
