EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

I think there is tad more than 50hp being transmitted via the blower belts. Check out the width of the belts on a Harley Sturgis drive, do you think you will be able to apply more torque than that without flipping the trike over? Centre of gravity, hmmm... the battery weight up high compared to the ...

EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

The motor mounted on top of the diff would also give you quick ratio change options and they could be mounted to the shafts using taper-locs, available from any bearing shop. The toothed gear and pawl mechanism from an auto transmission like a BW35 could be welded to the coupling used on the diff pi...

Finally had a win with PayPal, took 3 separate claims because i won't back down, buried them in screen dumps of every transaction or communication and after 3 mths, a win. So now I've had a tax office ruling in my favour and a PayPal win, must be christmas, you really can knock over brick walls by b...

BLDC motors and PF factor

Thankyou Richo, Thought I'd come to the source of information I believed I could trust to be accurate. It's very hard to get information about stuff that a lot of people have never heard of or still relate to a brand of washing machine motor. I have asked the same question else where and got all sor...

Just another thought, have you looked at the VW rear torsion bar set up? no axle twist possible and some softening of the rear end for kidney longevity. You could pick up a rear torque tube assembly from a wreckers cheap and cut it down to size.

I'll be watching this one with interest Jem, I've always wanted to convert a kombi. I love the square back, such a practical unit, no idea why the stopped making them. Sadly my last one vanished from a roadside breakdown in Tassie many moons ago, never found where it went too. Good luck with the pro...

auto welding mask

If anyone is thinking of buying an auto darkening welding mask, buy a good one. You can tell the difference by the adjustability, a good one has sensitivity adjustment, delay adjustment and darkness adjustment, all infinite adjustment not a 3 position switch. If you are likely to be doing welding in...

The kit Matt pointed me to has a Curtis controller and a HPGC AC50-01 Motor, 52 hp Peak @ 96 volts, 60 hp peak @ 108 volts and judging by the torque chart up around the 550amp mark to get the 60hp. What batteries am I looking for with that sort of discharge capability. The ones I’ve looked at so far...

Thank Matt, I checked out that Curtis controller on another site and the 550amp is a 2 min rating. What happens after the 2 mins, does the smoke come out? are there water cooled options with these controllers or are we now heading into the top shelf stuff? I did like the idea of the 108v battery pac...

....and the assist between 1,500 and 2,500rpm. OK. You should get plenty of regen pretty much whatever reasonable motor power you end up with - normally it has to be dialed back a bit. The big question now is how much assist power would you like? More importantly, at what motor RPM do you want peak...

The motor will effectively coupled to the ICE so operating range will be from 1,000rpm to 4,500rpm. The motor speed will be between 0 rpm and 4,500rpm, most like the regen will be more between 4,500max and 1,500 min and the assist between 1,500 and 2,500rpm. Coupling it direct to the tailshaft could...

In any case it will probably work out cheaper and easier to have a 3-phase motor setup to ~140Vac in delta mode. So it won't really matter which size you pick because it is a custom job any way. I would expect any self respecting rewinder could do this job for you. This sets you pack for around 340...
