Blade EV - New model

The issue will be that the major car makers will eventually have credible electric models that will fill the niche currently occupied by BEV, displacing it. This will be impossible to resist when the time comes Agreed, this will be a real problem for Ross when Hyundai release an EV. If the Australi...

Blade EV - New model

I would have thought that a people mover would be primarily used for dropping one kid of here another to there, and need to cover a considerable distance to perform its duties well. Well, it would be possible to build a people mover with a suitable range. Both the Ford EV Transit Connect and Smith ...

Blade EV - New model

I think VW have built a concept or experimental EV people mover with retro-styling. Very expensive. But with substantial range. I am not really a fan of people movers, but each to his own. They certainly fill a need in the market and an EV people mover should be much easier to build than cars. Chrys...

You appear to live in a world inhabited only by you! You start with the unfounded proposal that instead of collaborating with a willing and able partner, the successful and rapidly expanding Hyundai, Blade should have dealt with Toyota's Daihatsu division. What evidence have you that this was ever p...

Strange post! Sort of inaccurate, containing wildly distorted facts, completely unsubstantiated assertions, yet abusive! Well, I don't have your extensive knowledge of how cheap Italian porn queens behave, but I agree the Japanese, especially Toyota, are competent businessmen, which is why your prop...

The hatch market is inundated with good looking cars and the Hyundai is not one of them unfortunately. The Zombie mentality and common sense of todays consumers is a Blade costs the same as a golf or other ICE competitor.A twin sliding door passenger vehicle with high sitting position and same weig...

With all due respect to BEV and their efforts..... The new blade would sell better if it wasnt a quickly dating hatchback. It took Ross Blade many years millions of dollars and a great deal of hard work to establish a relationship with high quality manufacturer like Hyundai. In turn a great deal of ...

Heated seats are a good idea since it allows individual control, and doesn't add to drowsiness. However, windscreens still have to be heated etc.. and for Australia air-conditioning has become a standard feature. In the early 1980's, evaporative cooling was trialled for buses and large transport, bu...

[quote="antiscab"]given that this is Australia....why do we care?[quote]

We don't, but GM having designed an EV to cater for Northern hemisphere winters may consider the Aus/asian RHD market,as a lessor priority.

The reason for the lengthy delay in commencing to build the GM Volt in Australia, rather than just importing US built RHD versions, may be found in the technical aspects of the US design : eg; We know from GM's Susan Stevenson that, in cold weather, the Chevy Volt "requires as much energy to heat th...

While 3.55 Million seems like a lot you have to remember that it cost something like 1 Billion to produce the VZ Commodore, ok so they don't have to reinvent the body shape, but there would be significant parts made to make it look factory finished. It's hard to evaluate the worth of such a project...

But there is another one in Australia which you have not mentioned and is a full family size EV. It has been made (converted from a new standard production model) especially in Australia with the aim of showing the public that EV's don't have to be tiny little cars such as the BEV Getz or Nissan Le...

EV Commodore planned - all electric

The real question is why anyone would attempt such an idiotic exersise.

But then it's only ever intended to be a 'concept' vehicle.

However, I can think of better uses for $3.5 million of government money. The purchase of IOO Blade Electrons for the Government fleet or 250 EV charging points.

[quote="Thalass"] I'll drive an electric vehicle one day. QUOTE]

Isn't this just a little out of date? For the last 4 years you could have bought a Blade Electron, and now you can order an iMev, Leaf, or Plug in Prius. Next year you could buy an Australian made Volt?

What will your new motto be?

To be quite fair, every vehicle ever made, has quality issues. Theres always something that could have been improved. Even vehicles cost over $500,000 still have area of technical improvement. (or no new models). But this is a far cry from defaming a the quality of a vehicle on vague or minor unsubs...
