Forum Suggestion for Admin

Hi Andrew,

Just a suggestion, perhaps you could add a forum for Parts and Suppliers where we can post parts for sale, eBay items, local supplier links etc.

As media articles increase in volume, perhaps a Media forum would be helpful.

Cheers,
Mal.

Hi, He got quite a bargan. I think this kind of thing is more plentiful in WA. Look for a DC bus and regen on teh drive but that is not the only thing. When you find a drive, you will have to download the manuals to ensure it has all the inputs, outputs, ratings, analog pot interface and features yo...

Hi, Thanks for the links. There is an 18.5 Kw Allen Bradely 1336 Plus unit at M&E Equipment. It would need testing as it looks like it may have been dropped but if it works it would be a good unit. They can test it before you buy it. The last price I was last offered was $1300 Check my blog as I hav...

Power meter - kitset

Dear all,

For those that are handy with a soldering iron, there is a nice power meter published in Elektor Electronics Jan 08 edition.

Here is a LINK to the authors web site.

I am sure it could be adapted for higher V and I.

Mal.

Thanks Tuarn, I liked the look of the 557V Unit if it has a center tap http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley2.gif Or 2 of the 279V units for more range. BTW I saw the solar taxi today at Manly Warf. I had a good chat to Louis. He is using an AB industrial VFD. Unfortunately he wasn't in a positio...

Hi All, I have been reading about Zebra Batteries as used in the Solar Taxi. Has anyone made any enquiries as to availability and shipping to Australia of these? If the price of some of their accessories is anything to go by, they may be out of my league but I am curious. http://www.cebi.com/cebi/co...

Electronic Gears?

I had the same concern. but was going to cross that bridge when I got the EV going. As you suggest, a relay could be switched depending on speed to bias the pot apropriatly. Kind of like my reverse circuit. A Picaxe micro could do this reasonably easily depending on how the speed sensor is handled. ...

Hi Mark, Likewise. What year is your Van? I took a look at 2002? carry (The long bonnet version.) My motor is quite tall and it wouldn’t fit. The ICE is tilted at 45% to lower the profile. I am sure a DC motor would fit nicely in this model as they are significantly smaller. It should have a good po...
