Azure Dynamics Parts - Getting them going

Thanks. The trick was to understand the input frequency and duty cycle requirements. The German doc covered that well thankfully.

I didn't get a DMOC. Am kicking myself now!

Yea, the accelerator pedal was a stroke of luck.

Fly by wire for you BMW E30 nutters

Hi all, I am beginning my next EV and wanted to post a win I had for my BMW E30 See my updated blog http://malfunction.faed.name/ for details of fitting a later model fly by wire accelerator to an E30. It almost fits perfectly! The top stud needs 'adjusting' but not too much drama. See also info on ...

i-MiEV factory service manual pages - CAN Bus

Interesting. AC, you don't happen to own a CAN sniffer do you. I am after someone to run the vehicle and press the A/C button on and off 10 times to send me the captured packets. The AC compressor send the following messages: 439 0300000000000000 when off and 439 0000000000000000 when on. I need to ...

i-MiEV factory service manual pages - CAN Bus

Thanks AC. I am reverse engineering the kit from Azure I got. This confirms the water heater is the same as the iMiev. The aircon unit I have I had hoped was also the same, however the one I have is CAN controlled. The one in the diagram you kindly provided seems to have a single logic signal. Thank...

i-MiEV factory service manual pages - CAN Bus

Hi all,

Would anyone by any chance have a copy of the factory service manual?

I am after a copy of the wiring diagram for the air conditioning compressor.

For bonus points, a copy of the wiring diagram for the water heater would also be helpful.

Thanks,
Mal.

Prius NiMH Battery Conversion

Hi Kdryan, The good news is that NiMh batteries do not need a BMS. They do however require a dv/dt charger, like a nicad charger. have a look at radio control model battery chargers. Split pack battery charging...

Hi Chris,

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diode_logic for an example of a diode logic or.
R1 would be the relay coil. The diode forward current rating should be more than the maximum current required by the coil. You could use a relay, or solid state relay of more current is required.

Split pack battery charging...

The pre-charge relay needs to remain energised while the bike is on. Otherwise the discharge resistor may eventually overheat and burn out. You can use 2 diodes, one from acc, one from On to create a diode OR, to keep it on. You could energise the C4 contactors by an additional 12 v connector from t...
