Re: TO BLADE, OR NOT TO BLADE?

I misread earlier, I thought you were planning on upgrading it, rather than it already being upgraded.

Make sure you get a wiring diagram off the person who did the upgrade work.

Out of curiosity, did they fit a larger battery? Any other details on what the upgrade entailed?

Re: Non OEM Leaf battery upgrade?

The only one I saw working properly had two separate packs. The original as is, and a second one external and connected after the battery ecu current sensor. The car just saw the original battery discharging slower.

I'm struggling to find the link though 🤔

If you just want to get it home, just flat tow it, in B mode. Use a driver for both cars

Re: 10kW Motorbike Conversion

Top speed would be fairly short lived due to heat buildup. My Vectrix draws 10kw to do 100 -110kmh.

Tricky part is you don't really know until after its built and you've tested it

Re: MX-5 Hybrid conversion

Sounds like quite the project. I was originally going to suggest grabbing a Honda IMA unit, as that's around 10kw, already integrated, does Regen and has a 144v system voltage. Although that puts the motor on the motor side of the transmission How are you planning on shifting clutchless even with th...

Around 200km at 100kmh

There's a fellow who actually did that, by putting in 3 x Tesla 5.5kwh modules in.

Re: Zoe range vs temp & speed

I have noticed the heat pump running after I have turned the car off after a long drive.

I suspect the car uses the heat pump to hold the battery at 20 deg C or so all the time. Or at least while driving, charging and immediately after both

I was under the impression the certifying engineer just had to be a full member of engineers Australia?

Could you not just sign it off yourself?

The tricky part with using hybrid hardware is getting an inverter to drive the motors. The originals are largely yet to be hacked

The hill start assist feature with the auto brake makes it pretty easy too. Eco mode is a gimmick, it just limits you to 30% Max throttle

Re: Zoe energy use

Haha technically the zoe is my partners, though I get to use it fairly regularly.

Average speed I think was 55kmh, what the car reported. Most of the distance was 100kmh zones, but actual speeds were more like 80kmh due to traffic

For obvious reasons, don't run the gen set while you're driving.

How much range do you have? What version of electron do you have?

Zoe energy use

Hi guys, What kinda energy use are you seeing? I drove 300km yesterday, used 45.5kwh to recharge. Going from 10% to 100% took 42kwh, and I had a 3.5kwh top up charge. All at 32A single phase. I've heard reports that charge efficiency drops at slower charge rates, however, all postings of that nature...

Hi guys, Had the zoe for about 3 weeks now, and only just sorted out finance. To get the car on time, I maxed out my credit cards, and mortgage redraw. 7 weeks in all to get finance sorted. We bought the ex demo, so paid 46k for the car with 2.5k worth of on roads. The cheapest I could get for someo...

Type 2 charge leads

Hi guys, The latest generation of EVs are being shipped without home charge cables. For those not in the know, these allowed you to charge the car from any normal power point. If you're willing to roll your own, I'd recommend getting one of these http://s.aliexpress.com/jMrMFbAJ?fromSns=Copy to clip...
