PIP-4048MS inverter

Beta Version of Patched Firmware 73.00a Weber and I have finally finished alpha testing our patched firmware based on factory firmware version 73.00. Hardware that comes with factory firmware 73.00 has a neutral to earth relay, which is active only when the inverter is in battery mode. 73.00 also m...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

I am at 220V. Well done! But if I can manualy 220V, I could put over than 58.4V for battery ? There is a special-order model of the PIP-4048 that allows up to 64 V of charging, if you think you really need to go beyond 58.4 V. I don't know anything else about it, not even a name for it. I assume it...

I try realterm, but Where can put " 0x50 ... " First, ensure that you have the correct bit rate and port selected, using the Port tab (brown): Realterm set 220Vb.png Note that 2400 is right down the bottom of the "Baud" drop-down box. Changing the output voltage

As far as I know, the output voltage setting procedure is not documented at all. My initial research indicated that you have to send it a "V220" command to change the output voltage to 220 V. However, this turns out to be dead code in the firmware; it has no effect other than very slightly wearing o...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

There has been some discussion recently, here and in the South African Power Forum , about which versions of firmware are able to co-operate with which other versions, when paralleling more than one inverter. The same issues would affect three-phase systems. I assume that all three-phase systems wou...

I actually did find a Watchpower manual (the manual doesn't seem to have a version number, so it might be old), and it doesn't se...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Welcome, Franck. But - I would like to do : 220V-230V-240V, because since 2014, only 230V. Interesting; perhaps they set it to 220 V at the distributor, or the factory. The V220 etc commands have been shown not to work. I was confusing a setting for "inverter voltage" with one for "output voltage". ...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

One question I had from previous pages was in regards to the apparent glitch when charging from a generator. Setting [11] to 30A works fine, but upping it any higher (40A/50A etc.) results in a constant cycle... Sorry, no progress as yet. I've still not seen this happen, but I have now seen a gener...

I have Solar Power as Software. That's rather different to the inverters discussed here: grid interac...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

So my questions, is data only logged when connected to pc or can i just down load a stored data file from the inverter? As far as I know, the inverters don't store any useful information. There is a setting for enabling "record fault code", but I haven't chased up what that actually does yet. I sus...

I've got a bunch (36x) of CALB SE130Ah cells in Port Macquarie... Are you sure that they are 130 Ah? What size are they? I may be interested if you want to get rid of some. These would be for my solar energy system, which has CALB SE 160 Ah cells mostly, but a few ex-EV 100 Ah cells. Some of the la...

Private Messages, until they are read by the recipient, stay in the outbox. It's unfortunate naming, some would say misleading. So "outbox" should be called "unread messages" and "sent messages" should be called "read messages" (or similar).

Agreed.
I like how they use a blow torch on the batteries at every chance.
I thought that was plasma for roughening the surface, so the adhesive sticks better. But I didn't look closely.

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Hi, Robert. We used to be able to read firmware from the DSP (inverter's processor on the daughter board) using slightly special equipment, as posted in I believe the "if your inverter is bricked" post, but as of the last year or two they use a password to protect against this. So I don't think it's...

Rik, the dual- and triple-MPPT models do seem to work somewhat differently to the single-MPPT models. I never see that weird behaviour [ edit: with my single-MPPT machine] with the PV voltage readings; it always reads zero at night, for example. In fact, at night, the single MPPT SCCs (Solar Charge ...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

3 x 4kW inverters linked in 3 phase would produce how many kW 3 phase? Energy is always conserved. Power is just energy per time, so power is also always conserved. So 3 4 kW inverters produces 12 kW. That can be as 3 single phase loads at 230V and 17.4 A each, or three phase to phase loads of 400 ...
