Re: How to value my iMiev for sale?

Yeah, I only paid 15 for mine, but that was in the brief period when the initial lease on the 2010s ran out and there were quite a few on the market at once. I wouldn't be at all surprised if I could get more for it now. It would certainly be hard to replace for $15,000 if written off. I suspect the...

Re: How to value my iMiev for sale?

Redbook says $10,200 to $11,800, sounds about right to me, I figure on cars halving in value every 5 years, which would make ours $10k (bought for 15k 3 years ago, same description as yours). On the other hand, if anyone really wants an electric car under $20k, there is not much available so you mig...

Re: Tesla PW2

Is the anti islanding, backup function when the grid goes down built in, or something that had to be installed specifically? Couldn't find much detail of that in their webpage previously.

Roughly how much did it cost installed?

1. Much more expensive to buy than ICE cars at the moment. 2. Due to 1. likely to have insufficient range for country driving but only a problem if it is the only car in the household. 3. No decent off road options available yet. 4. Progressing fast enough that waiting for next years model (better a...

Re: Dreamers Questions. Hillclimb 4wd Racer

I got about 400 cycles (5000km) out of the first set of lipo model aircraft batteries on my e-bike. Mostly at around 1C. Second set are still going OK at 7000km/500 cycles. Not a huge lifespan, but they are very small and light and cheap, so good for that application. I don't think I'd want to be re...

Re: Airbag recall

Mine was done on Thursday at Melville Mitsubishi, first i-MiEV they have done. They actually called in the morning to say it was harder than they thought and they would need it overnight, but ended up putting an extra mechanic on it and getting it done the same day.

Don't know about the old one, but I happened to notice last week that Bunnings sell the ampfibians, so pretty easy to get one.

Yes, haven't seen one in Australia but there are a few running around as taxis or similar in Singapore. I think the price is getting up there with Teslas.

Re: Airbag recall

So -Wanneroo Mitsubishi can replace the airbag in a single visit -Melville require an inspection, then return in 2 weeks when the part arrives. -Paceway say not to even bother for 3 weeks as no parts are in the country. And this is the easy one, next I have to try to get the airbags in my grey impor...

Re: Airbag recall

Thought it seemed too easy. Melville mitsubishi have now done the other recall, but said they had to read the serial number off the airbag to order the parts in, and won't have it for 7-10 days. Still better than Paceway's wait 3 weeks if they are correct. Joseph, did you get anything done at Wanner...

Where do you get ferrules from? My first project is to try to remove the rest of the seized on socket, but if I can't do that safely I'll need a short extension cord.

Re: Charging cable has died!!!

I just had this too. Our 2010 i-Miev came with a little extension from the screw type 15A plug to a regular 15A plug, but the screwed together part was inseparable. Yesterday there was arcing in the screw socket. I have managed to cut open the screw rings enough to prise out the socket, and it is no...

Re: I-MiEV Main battery cell failure

I think they are still authorised for PHEV, just not EV, closest EV authorised service centre is in Adelaide. I just had a closer look at the warranty certificate and it does actually state it is a "Diamond Pre Owned Vehicles Advantage Warranty Certificate", extension to 5 years from our purchase da...

Re: I-MiEV Main battery cell failure

When we bought ours from Paceway we were told that because it was originally a 3 year lease, we were actually the first purchaser and would get 5 year warranty from purchase. My only documentation of this is a dodgy photocopy of a warranty certificate though. The new owners of Paceway don't seem to ...

Actually the I-Miev has not been available for order for at least 2 years.
I've seen conflicting reports, would be nice to see something official from Mitsubishi, though it really doesn't make much difference whether they are officially available or not if no one is buying them.

I called Paceway and they said they still think it will be 3 weeks before they get parts so they aren't taking bookings.
Tried Melville Mitsubishi and they booked it in for the 11th. I guess I'll find out who knows what they were talking about next week.

Re: I-MiEV Main battery cell failure

Have you seen mentioned elsewhere in this thread that evshop in Balcatta now have a 2nd hand traction battery from an i-miev for spares/cell replacement? Might be worth giving them a try rather than Paceway though it wouldn't be covered by warranty.

Did you try Mitsubishi? Last I heard they said you could still get an i-MIEV if you were prepared to pay full retail and wait for it to be imported. Not expecting anyone to actually do so.

Looks like they put the extra batteries in front of the front wheels, sticks out a long way. Or maybe my perspective is warped by having an i-MiEV.

Re: 2010 Imiev charging question

I think the volt evse was a lot cheaper than that, don't know how easy it is to find still find one. You shouldn't need the ampfibian as well if you get a 10a EVSE, the volt one has a 10amp plug I think. I believe some outlander PHEV owners also got a 10a evse which should work. I think if you could...

Re: 2010 Imiev charging question

The charge cable that comes with the 2010 i MiEVs does not have any electronics. The charging port is also missing the pins to communicate with other EVSE cables. Some have been modified to work, but I'm not sure if they really communicate fully or it is just a fudge to allow it to work at some defa...

Re: iMiev Recall notice

You may have to contact Mitsubishi to get registered as the owner, not sure if that would be automatically done on a service, since it is only triggered by change of ownership.
You can check for recalls on their webpage https://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/cu ... le-recalls
