Re: Hello and my Fiat 500e
Congrats and welcome. They look nice hope you enjoy. Interesting that it has the same WLTP range as our car which has never been a hindrance even on road trips.

Complicated ICE
I know how but how are combustion engines not more expensive, they are so complicated. Actually marvel that they last as long as they do with so many moving parts. Be good to consign them to the past. Although conversely the attendant electronics required to turn a relatively simple electric motor a...

So it appears Chris Bowen and Catherine King are holding a press conference today to announce watered down fuel efficiency standards.

Re: Syngery EV Vehicle Add On (Tarrfic)
It would work out more expensive to swap to the New EV Plan from the old discontinued EV Plan. Off peak @19.5c + gst, 20kWh free off peak power a bill. new plan 30.3c/kWh old plan 27.3c/kWh Its closer than I thought it would be given our peak usage. I kept the bins for comparison for the old one but...

Re: Syngery EV Vehicle Add On (Tarrfic)
Thanks for the write up and its great you got an actual reduction in costs. I'll have to revisit my data dump to see if we would as well. Might have to compare over a whole year as winter usage will be the killer for us given 2 RC AC units do our heating. Time to figure out how to cheaply draft proo...

@coulomb It was the tell tale Pilbara staining that meant it had been driving up north for me.
@brendon_m Does it only have 1 roofrack for the flashing light? Would not mind if there is a pair?

Re: Novated Leases getting more EVs on the road
I found this to be the case through the only provider my work allows. Even before the latest interest rate rises they were only $3k cheaper than getting a loan for a $85k vehicle. They pocketed all the reductions. Work would not let me shop around to find a better deal.

Vandalism at Booragoon charger
Someone tried to rip a cable out of a car at 9am this past Sunday morning. nice bloke. I attempted to charge there the week before about that time but both spots occupied. I know it was a random attack but it's not like it's an isolated spot.helps that these morons don't seem to know about Tesla's c...

Re: Turtle Mode at 80% charge
I guess I shall have to take it to Hyundai (sigh). Or get an OBD-II adapter? They are not all that expensive or hard to use. Just avoid the cheapest of the cheap junk ones. Seconded. I got a cheap Altronics one and it works sometimes with some apps but not Car Scanner. Dealers are bad at diagnosing...

Faulty motor temp sensor maybe? - has happened on Ioniqs
Coolant pump failure?
Only kicks in when temp get warmer?
Do you have an OBD adapter to check what's happening.

Fuel efficiency stickers
I have noticed a fair amount of Tesla's, both 3 and Y, driving around with the fuel efficiency stickers on the windscreen. Is this a thing, or am I just seeing the same cars driving around or people driving back from picking them up?

Does Toyota claiming they're leading electrification count? Seen Audi, Polestar, Hyundai, Kia (not during tennis as I don't watch), and recently the MG4 has popped up as well. Pausing FTA for 15 mins before a movie, making a cuppa or whatnot and fast forwarding the ads is a marvel of the moder...

Second hand market
Seems prices have come quite a way down for the original Ioniq. Not exactly worried as we weren't looking to sell and definitely a function of BYD, MG lowering the entry point. My question really is would you go a brand new Dolphin or could you be convinced to pick up an Ioniq for $30k despite only ...

Each state other than WA, SA and Tasmania. I think they have actually got a charger in WA now, so long as your christmas road trip is to Perth. It's like going to the country with mobile coverage dead spots as the reception is non existent in the Karrinyup basement carpark where it's placed. You ne...

Re: Syngery EV Vehicle Add On (Tarrfic)
I downloaded a years worth of Synergy data, you can export at 30min intervals and put it through the plan rates and we didn't come out ahead. It was a lot closer than I thought but in conversation with the misses we are not trading winter comfort for a for a few hundred bucks and to do it effectivel...
