Shipping in wooden crates is an issue if the timber used doesn't comply with ISPM15. This document can be googled at the customs site.
I had all my cells shipped in cardboard boxes with no issue.

Weber and Coulomb's MX-5
You may already be aware of this, but when weighing the vehicle you need to have a level line marked on the vehicle using a spirit level. This line must remain level when weighing the front and rear axles, with scales at exactly the same position in relation to the axle centre. I had my ev weighed u...

Weber and Coulomb's MX-5
The GVM in South Africa is 1375kg, it would be the same or very close here in Australia. In your ownwes manual under specifications is there a maximum axle weight front & rear. This is usually a lot more than the GVH. You can go up to these figures but as you stated above you will need to have a bra...

FWD, RWD, AWD considerations
The yellow direct drive unit was constructed using a super zebo dc series motor and a 1996 Toyota RAV4 rear diff. The unit functioned well but the ratio (2.98:1) was to high and unfortunately I wasen't able to obtain a higher diff ratio for that type of housing. 3.5>4:1 would have been ideal for t...

I have a couple of used Prius (30 series) HV battery packs which I hope I can reconfigure to 14.4 vdc nominal. Here is a couple of items I am unsure off and could use a bit of direction. 1. TCCH Battery Charging Curves
Matt The charger is supposed to be programmed for 38 cells @ 3.65 volts, with the BMS over charge cutout set at 3.8 volts. I have momitored the cells during charging, but the charger stops charging at 3.34vdc. Even with the cell voltage at 3.1 volts it still charges at 2.9amps. I have a feeling that...
