Re: Ultra fast chargers (350kW/HPC) in Victoria

It would be great to have a few 50kW chargers around the Melbourne freeways at the service stations. Day to day you might not use them, but if you ever forget to charge (it'll happen) or end up doing a lot of driving in one day, having that DC fast charger not far off your route will be super handy....

Re: Ultra fast chargers (350kW/HPC) in Victoria

If anyone's interested in the technical details of these chargers, I got to see the one in Euroa getting installed. Nice gear :) https://www.drivezero.com.au/charging/whats-involved-in-the-construction-of-an-ultra-rapid-electric-car-charging-station/ Can't wait for the route from Adelaide to Melbour...

Re: The full Hyundai Ioniq range headed down under

Thinking to geek out connecting to the car via OBD-2? I can't seem to find standard Ioniq app out there (i.e. Google). Hyundai has an official app - Auto Link Premium . Comes standard with the electric variant of the Ioniq. It's just an OBD2 device with a 3G SIM & GPS built in. https://i.imgur.com/...

The on-board AC charger can suck down 7kw, which will fill the battery in around 4 hours from empty. Most of my driving is on...

Re: The full Hyundai Ioniq range headed down under

I picked up my Ioniq electric a few days ago :) https://i.imgur.com/5HIZmHl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/RQOUds5.jpg https://i.imgur.com/SnQFMl6.jpg Enjoying it so far, pretty damn fancy compared to the cars I previously owned (a Getz, a Corolla and a Magna). Most of the things I like about it are featur...

Re: The full Hyundai Ioniq range headed down under

motoring.com.au reckons Hyundai is shopping the Ioniq EV around to fleets and will start selling "select versions" (could just be the hybrids) before the end of the year. Full line up on sale at showrooms mid-2018. $43,000+onroads for the EV apparently. https://www.motoring.com.au/hyundai-ioniq-goes...
