Re: Need Help with J1772 wiring. Gelco EVSE ??

The diode and resistor trick worked, Plugged into 3 phase Tesla Destination charger & LandRover now charges at the usual slow rate of 3.3kw (as indicated on Zeva BMS) . Have also ordered AVC2 module. Chris, I have a 180Amp alternator in the Iveco but only a 2kw inverter installed , meybe I should in...

Re: Need Help with J1772 wiring. Gelco EVSE ??

Thanks Reecho , Type 2 being the Tesla connector , right ???
Im prepared to change the charge socket if I need to , ....... EV Range is only a minor inconvenience, I have a workaround for that :)

Thanks , have just installed as per EVTV circuit diagram,
Bob at Gelco emailed me another version of same resistor /diode circuit, Have installed , will report back with results.

Need Help with J1772 wiring. Gelco EVSE ??

I have converted my LandRover and have no problems charging it at home , I simply have a 15Amp 3 pin plug connected to a J1772 on the car . There are no smarts in the car, The back of the J1772 simply connects to the 3.3Kw TC Charger , with a 240V Relay on the AC side to tell the BMS when the charge...

Re: Plugshare - outlet types

Is a "Wall outlet 3112 " a 3 pin Australian GPO style socket ? I have installed a J1772 socket in my EV conversion. My charge cord is a J1772 with a regular 3 pin 15A plug on the other end to suit the 15A outlet in my shed. The closest public charge points (within battery range ) to me are listed as...

Re: Arduino BMS with unlimited everything

I ended up using Zeva V3 BMS, it fills the ticket with all the points listed above , and its a LOT more compact with its SMD than my Adruino & Through the hole components could ever hope to be. The Processor & Programming language pretty much the same as Arduino anyway.

Re: LandRover conversion done !

Thanks for your feedback Chris, I'll do that once Ive gathered all my info in order on my webpage. At a couple of hours a day I should have it collated in a week. Its still fingers crossed at this stage, VASS inspection for Rego approval on Feb 9th . 3 hours each way on a trailer so will be a bummer...

I'm writing up a webpage on the build, adding a bit every day , so if you check back for updates be sure to refresh your browser. couple of 'first drive' videos near the top of page...

Re: AC51 first start up Help

Problem solved, someone on diy electric car forum suggested I swap the phase cables on motor , despite the fact that they were correct as per labeling, this solved the problem , now spools up to 6500 smooth all the way :) !!

Labelling of Battery Compartment ???

My EV project is nearing completion, reading through NCOP14 2.6 Labelling of Battery Compartments Some batteries contain chemicals, particularly acids, which may cause a hazard in the event of a crash. Each battery compartment should be labelled with the appropriate hazard symbols for the battery ch...

Well yes Chris, it should be zero leakage as far as Im concerned, but I just wanted assurance that it complied with NCOP14 which stipulates less than 20mA

Re: Battery Box building

I'll be making some battery boxes soon too. Both these fuel tanks will be replaced with boxes that hold 12 x CALB 180 cells , and I'll need another box holding 21 cells under the bonnet . Constructing a box & lid is one thing, but I assumed the cells all need to be clamped down somehow, this is the ...

Re: Arduino BMS with unlimited everything

Yes, I am interested in your Arduino BMS . Late reply because I only just started construction of my EV. I don't necessarily agree that Arduino are just for one off designs and proof of concept, Yes it is good to get Coders into electronics , but it does not stop there. A mate and I build a Much bet...
