Re: Hot rod EV - looking for advice.
Nice truck, , totally missed this thread . Have been looking for a '49 Pilothouse Dodge for my wife for about 25 years and finally a decent one turned up in QLD, been parked up in a shed for 20 years. Still waiting on it to be transported back down to Vic then I'll be able to figure out what needs d...

Re: RETROFIT SOUND GENERATOR FOR EV?
I used a chip from a R/C truck, and hooked it up to a marine speaker.

I should add , I havent actually used it the sound thing . I prefer the silence , Its just a novelty thus far.

Re: LandRover DIY
Hey Don, I am 49 km from Yarrawonga (shortest back road route). You could recharge at 15 Amps (maybe 32 Amps). You could drive your 4wd up my track and be the first electric vehicle to climb Mount Bruno. My Nissan LEAF is not quite up to it. Sorry for late reply, my account has been broken ,( well ...

'Unsealed 4x4' on my conversion
Well written article in Unsealed 4x4 Magazine on my conversion. Appear to have made an impression on one non-EV aware Journo . Hopefully thought provoking to a diesel centric demographic. http://unsealed4x4.com.au/u4x4/issue056/?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=New+Issu...

Re: Need Help with J1772 wiring. Gelco EVSE ??
Hi goingbush I am looking at using same charging setup, can you tell me where you sourced your 3.3 TC charger and what model you went with and were there any issues communicating with the zeva BMS? and did you end up using the AVC2 module? any issues with that? Sorry for late reply, my account was ...

LandRover DIY
I generally get a practical range of about 70-80km per charge from my conversion , normal running about town & a little bit of highway nothing much over 80kmh, Yesterday I took a longer drive just slow pottering about mostly under 50kmh , but not the stop start driving I normally do. I was surpr...

Re: Need Help with J1772 wiring. Gelco EVSE ??
The diode and resistor trick worked, Plugged into 3 phase Tesla Destination charger & LandRover now charges at the usual slow rate of 3.3kw (as indicated on Zeva BMS) . Have also ordered AVC2 module. Chris, I have a 180Amp alternator in the Iveco but only a 2kw inverter installed , meybe I shoul...

Need Help with J1772 wiring. Gelco EVSE ??
I have converted my LandRover and have no problems charging it at home , I simply have a 15Amp 3 pin plug connected to a J1772 on the car . There are no smarts in the car, The back of the J1772 simply connects to the 3.3Kw TC Charger , with a 240V Relay on the AC side to tell the BMS when the charge...

Re: Plugshare - outlet types
Is a "Wall outlet 3112 " a 3 pin Australian GPO style socket ? I have installed a J1772 socket in my EV conversion. My charge cord is a J1772 with a regular 3 pin 15A plug on the other end to suit the 15A outlet in my shed. The closest public charge points (within battery range ) to me are...

Re: Arduino BMS with unlimited everything
I ended up using Zeva V3 BMS, it fills the ticket with all the points listed above , and its a LOT more compact with its SMD than my Adruino & Through the hole components could ever hope to be. The Processor & Programming language pretty much the same as Arduino anyway.

Problem solved, someone on diy electric car forum suggested I swap the phase cables on motor , despite the fact that they were correct as per labeling, this solved the problem , now spools up to 6500 smooth all the way !!

Labelling of Battery Compartment ???
My EV project is nearing completion, reading through NCOP14 2.6 Labelling of Battery Compartments Some batteries contain chemicals, particularly acids, which may cause a hazard in the event of a crash. Each battery compartment should be labelled with the appropriate hazard symbols for the battery ch...
