Great news Hamza.
Good to know that the cells are evenly charged, being several weeks on their
journey to WA. It was an altogether different situation with the cells I tried to replace the pack in my iMiEV......
We look forward to more reports on the project

Re: VIC to introduce EV and PHEV road tax
Almost $2000 refund. I just have to remember NOT to complain about the appalling standard of our sealed roads - if I want to avoid blowback from the less well off, and those struggling with cost of living pressures. Wow. Only $143 for me. I did not pay the last installment as it was due just shortl...

For those who don't know who Hans Tholstrup is: jMmTRI6giSU Ah yes, AEVA is 50, I did not know until last Tuesday's meeting, when Kath Davies told her story about the successful challenge to the world's worst EV tax. Well, Hans had to pay tax too, 20 cents to cross the bridge, lol. We've come a long ...

Re: VIC to introduce EV and PHEV road tax
I take liberty of quoting a post from Whirlpool Electric Vehicle thread I wrote a short while ago. Good news then, for us EV drivers! I am glad of the ruling . Yet I still accept that we have to pay for the up keep of the roads eventually. A tax per km x weight may be an acceptable compromise, but i...

Re: Any Minicab MiEV owners in Melbourne?
Hi Kudra, I think we met at a show and tell some time ago how did you go with the replacement van? Are you still happy with the range the battery gives you? Heya! Sorry for the very late reply! I only picked up the newly battery-swapped minicab last Friday from EDM, and ohhhhh I didn't realise just...

Re: iMiEV charging, J1772 testing
unfortunately we ran out of time to check if it allowed all three power settings, I'm sure it would have worked, my parents have a 2012 which charges at higher rates on suitable chargers. Good to know, thanks. Just out of curiosity, what is the highest rate you have observed the OBC to accept. Actua...

Re: iMiEV charging, J1772 testing
As a side-note, fitting an AVC2 board will enable an 8A portable charger to turn on, but the car will draw 12.5A through it - which the portable charger is unlikely to be happy about! On the other hand, the Mode 1 lead (as in the 'no-brick' lead it came with) still works fine even if you fit the AV...

Re: iMiEV charging, J1772 testing
Yep, thought of that in the middle of the night and was logging back on now to add that point .... to find someone had already noticed my forgetfulness! It's a standard socket - you can either buy a new socket and swipe the pin out of it or just swap the entire socket. Either way, you then add the ...

Re: iMiEV charging, J1772 testing
Thanks Tony. My car charges ok from home (GPO??). I have both the simple standard 15A cable (no box) used with a 10A converter & a Type 1/ Type 2 cable to use with the Chargefox. I have enquired about the loom. Is there a guide how to do this? Cheers I am sure your car charges with 12.5 or 13) ...

Re: iMiEV charging, J1772 testing
Edit: have not figured out yet how to post a document or image... I have a post about that here . BTW, I meant to say that since you have all 5 pins in your J1772 inlet, and you have a 2015 charger, you definitely should be able to get the pilot signal control. It's a matter of what mods were done ...

Re: iMiEV charging, J1772 testing
Hi All, Sorry to resurrect an old thread but nothing seemed to come of it. I have a 2010 that will not charge through a Type 1 / Type 2 lead at a Chargefox station. I get the same car response as BeeWBee - the fan comes on for a few seconds and then switches off and an error comes up on the Chargef...

Re: Any Minicab MiEV owners in Melbourne?
Hey folks! ...... ir it, I now know that there are significant risks and potentially a lot of time to even trying to repair the damage, and as it is now WOVRed the bar is higher for getting it reregistered. So I bit the bullet and got a new (second hand, also 2012) van coming from Japan, and when i...

Re: Wanting Help to get an iMiev going in Brisbane
And this folks, is why we are the AEVA :D Ha ha yes indeed. Thanks coulomb for the updates. Yes very encouraging, as I every year mothball my iMiEV for three or four months. The loss of charge at about 2/3rds of full I found to be nearly non-existing after three months (checking it with either a ph...

OK, but only at >200 mv . I have no idea if it keeps doing 1.2 A all the way down to 30mV, I doubt it.francisco.shi wrote: ↑Mon, 24 Jan 2022, 13:56 1.2A is pretty good compared to most other BMSs. Most only do 0.5A or less.

Re: Aftermarket iMiEV battery upgrade project
Do you know how much current the active balancer can bypass? If the V difference exceeds 0.1V, it shunts 0.5 to 0.7 A, if it exceeds 0.2 then it shunts 1.2 A. I did not measure if this is correct. But it is obviously not very much. I now made an experiment. I accelerated extremely hard, and observed...

Re: Aftermarket iMiEV battery upgrade project
The balancers start to balance if the volt difference is more than 100mV and bring the cells back to within 30mV. very interesting, I use the same balancers in several home storage applications, these data was unknow to me till now That is the specification supplied. I tested it by putting a load o...

Re: Aftermarket iMiEV battery upgrade project
Wow, those 60 Ah NMC cells were pretty ordinary then. This is probably a better way to use them for mobility, as they would have had a short life on their own. Definitely only a home storage cell in any other use case. Yes at full working amps I don't think they would be still alive, I hope halving...

Re: Aftermarket iMiEV battery upgrade project
Wow. Nice post. The car got me to my course all week without any hassles. The power meter on the instrument cluster basically reads half now (as half the current is being supplied by the range extender) and the GoM is vague. The Imiev just assumes I'm driving super efficiently all the time due to th...
