Re: Offer for all members Friday 9am WST

Makes me kinda sad to learn that an electric bus project has fallen through. I don't have any use of one of these batteries, but I'm happy others do.

Re: Wanting to get my iMiEV serviced. Advice?

i noticed a steady drop of about 10km of range over a few weeks, was thinking we had a dead or dying cell, nope, just tyres losing air pressure. pumped back to recommended pressures, back to 100Km range every morning again.. as for the bars randomly dropping off or coming back during the day, our d...

Re: I-MiEVs for sale

I seen the blue 2012 one in Melbourne (member of here) and looking at a 2010 one in Wagga Wagga tomorrow. Obviously both will need to be trucked to Canberra. You can do it without a truck; it would just be quite time consuming. There are enough charging stations and caravan parks in at least the Wa...

Re: FS 2011 i-MiEV repairable writeoff (*SOLD*)

Sorry I am only new to this forum and hope i'm ok to post this. Piman I have a 2011 i-miev wreck (dark red colour) from an accident involving a distracted driver hitting my husband which wrote off the car. I have someone interested in buying the wreck off me but unsure of the value for such a thing...

Re: Around Australia Electric Highway

You say any electric car, but I think an iMiEV would have trouble with that gap near the WA/SA border...
Actually, looking up the distances, I think anything short of a Tesla's range would have trouble with that gap.

Re: Wanting to get my iMiEV serviced. Advice?

[*]The button on the driver door to un/lock the car doesn't always respond I found this when the key battery was close to flat. Do you get the key icon on the dash flashing for a minute or so after the iMiEV is started, which indicates the key battery is getting low? I recently ordered 5 of the cr2...

Re: Charging points in SEQ

I've charged at caravan parks three times, all in the one trip (although not in your area). Pakenham Caravan Park was very accommodating. I needed a cabin for overnight anyway, so they gave me the one cabin with a 15A socket, measured my power usage and included $10 of electricity (car+cabin) in the...

You are entering winter weather temperatures here in Melbourne which probably accounts for the range reduction.
I don't remember it doing this last year.

Wanting to get my iMiEV serviced. Advice?

My 2011 iMiEV has been a bit temperamental lately and a figure a full service will probably help with some of the issues (some listed below), with a hint of preventative measures for future possible issues. Does anyone here know a good place to get it professionally done, where they have experience ...

Re: 2012 imiev

So what did it cost new, what is a new one going to cost ( if you can get one), and what else is going to be worn that will need replacing in the next 800,000 Km ? You can't get a new one in Australia now, so there's no price for that. Although prior to any deep discounting when Mitsubishi was tryi...

Re: iMiev Recall notice

Not being "ready" should not allow the gear stick to get out of park. There has to be a way to get it out of park without power (and therefore not Ready), or else it becomes too difficult to move if you fully run out of charge. Once last year I ran out of charge late at night and decided to wait un...

Re: FS 2011 i-MiEV repairable writeoff (*SOLD*)

The car is now sold. With the only offer for money by my cut off point of Saturday afternoon, Arron (aka n5064368) is now the proud owner of the wreck and it will make its way up to him soon. Had I waited just a few more hours, I would have received two more offers (both for a higher price), but I d...

Re: FS 2011 i-MiEV repairable writeoff (must go ASAP)

Just to be clear, this is not a "first come, first served" give away. My first choice will be whoever offers the most money and can get it off my hands by next Wednesday at the latest. If I get no money offers from people who can take the car in time, then I will decide somewhat arbitrarily based on...

Re: FS 2011 i-MiEV repairable writeoff (must go ASAP)

With so many offers, I think I'll leave this up until only Saturday 14th (instead of Monday 16th). I was also hoping that if enough people were offering, that some might offer to buy it instead of just take it. I have no interest in running a full blown auction, so if anyone is willing to pay, feel ...

I’m happy to take it - I can get someone to come and collect this week if you like. Can you confirm it’s not a statutory write off ?

Repairable write off, not statutory.

FS 2011 i-MiEV repairable writeoff (*SOLD*)

Item: 2011 i-MiEV Location: Melbourne - western suburbs Item Condition: Repairable writeoff thanks to a rear end crash in 2016. I have every reason to believe the main battery is working fine, and had around 20 000km on it before the crash. At last check, it was sitting at about 70% charge, which is...

iMiEV - What to do with a write off

The point of this topic is that I'm pretty sure the car is worth more than that.

I'm not sure how much more, so that's what I was hoping people here might have more of an idea about.

iMiEV - What to do with a write off

Thanks for the responses everyone. I would have said more if I knew more, but I didn't even know there was more than one type of write off, and I haven't seen my car in three weeks (the day of the crash). I have only one photo, but this is the damage I know of: - The rear bumper is completely trashe...

iMiEV - What to do with a write off

The $1700 has already been factored _out_ of the payout figure, so that's not an issue.
I suppose part of the question I left unstated is, where would I look for someone willing to pay more?

As for a replacement car, I'm looking for another iMiEV because it is the cheapest electric car I know of.

iMiEV - What to do with a write off

I was in a crash some weeks ago and I have just received the bad news that the car is a write off. The insurance company is covering most of the cost, and has recommended a company to take the wreck that is willing to pay me $1700. The thing is, I'm pretty sure the batteries are still worth more tha...
