Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info

I guess if they manage to get it here before the Model 3 they will want to capitalise on that by selling it at more than Model 3 prices. More like equal it. With the current exchange rate, I''d be surprised if the entry level Model 3 came in at under $55 000, and I think $60 000 is more likely. Thi...

Re: 2nd Hand LEAF

...When asked about warranty they said 12 months. Que? So that means that a replacement battery has a much shorter warranty than the one that comes with a new vehicle? Does that mean they could get away with putting cheap cells in a replacement battery module that crap themselves after 13 months? I...

Re: Hydrogen

CSIRO announce quite some time ago that they were working on this. They weren't specific in that article what they had achieved recently. I'm guessing it's that they have a prototype to show people - one step up from vapourware. You'd hope that it would "rival our LNG export industry." That's the w...

Currently the right hand drive Model 3 is optimistically set for mid next year Hmmm from my understanding that is what they said last year. Especially annoying when other people get priority rather than when the order was placed. The delay for places like here and the UK makes sense because it does...

Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info

Tesla actually sell EVs in Australia already, and have a history of bringing them here in a reasonable time from overseas release. Hyundai have no track record at all, I hope they really do end up selling their EVs here. Currently the right hand drive Model 3 is optimistically set for mid next year...

Re: PHEV Flood Fail

I remember hearing a figure of six inches being all it takes to flood a vehicle. Some very brief research says 6"/15cm is about the threshold for a small car, while larger and heavier cars can tolerate maybe 45cm (give or take, depending on the make/model); this is based on actual testing, not just ...

Our Imiev is finally back home After exhaustive testing Mitsubishi Australia have declared (according to Paceway Mitsubishi). 1. That it is within operating parameters for the vehicle to stop with bars remaining. 2. There is no such mode as turtle. If / when it breaks down again it will be time for...

i noticed a steady drop of about 10km of range over a few weeks, was thinking we had a dead or dying cell, nope, just tyres losing air pressure. pumped back to recommended pressures, back to 100Km range every morning again.. as for the bars randomly dropping off or coming back during the day, our d...

I seen the blue 2012 one in Melbourne (member of here) and looking at a 2010 one in Wagga Wagga tomorrow. Obviously both will need to be trucked to Canberra. You can do it without a truck; it would just be quite time consuming. There are enough charging stations and caravan parks in at least the Wa...

Sorry I am only new to this forum and hope i'm ok to post this. I have someone interested in buying the wreck off me but unsure of the value for such a thing...

You say any electric car, but I think an iMiEV would have trouble with that gap near the WA/SA border...
Actually, looking up the distances, I think anything short of a Tesla's range would have trouble with that gap.

[*]The button on the driver door to un/lock the car doesn't always respond I found this when the key battery was close to flat. Do you get the key icon on the dash flashing for a minute or so after the iMiEV is started, which indicates the key battery is getting low? I recently ordered 5 of the cr2...

I've charged at caravan parks three times, all in the one trip (although not in your area). Pakenham Caravan Park was very accommodating. I needed a cabin for overnight anyway, so they gave me the one cabin with a 15A socket, measured my power usage and included $10 of electricity (car+cabin) in the...

You are entering winter weather temperatures here in Melbourne which probably accounts for the range reduction.

Wanting to get my iMiEV serviced. Advice?

My 2011 iMiEV has been a bit temperamental lately and a figure a full service will probably help with some of the issues (some listed below), with a hint of preventative measures for future possible issues. Does anyone here know a good place to get it professionally done, where they have experience ...

So what did it cost new, what is a new one going to cost ( if you can get one), and what else is going to be worn that will need replacing in the next 800,000 Km ? You can't get a new one in Australia now, so there's no price for that. Although prior to any deep discounting when Mitsubishi was tryi...

Re: iMiev Recall notice

Not being "ready" should not allow the gear stick to get out of park. There has to be a way to get it out of park without power (and therefore not Ready), or else it becomes too difficult to move if you fully run out of charge. Once last year I ran out of charge late at night and decided to wait un...

If I get no money offers from people who can take the car in time, then I will decide somewhat arbitrarily based on...

Re: FS 2011 i-MiEV repairable writeoff (must go ASAP)

With so many offers, I think I'll leave this up until only Saturday 14th (instead of Monday 16th). I was also hoping that if enough people were offering, that some might offer to buy it instead of just take it. I have no interest in running a full blown auction, so if anyone is willing to pay, feel ...
