PIP-4048MS inverter

Hi All, I have searched - but could not find any particular reference to this. Has anyone ever run the PIP-4048 with Li-Ion cells (Tesla style) - in something such as a 14S configuration? Any experience with this? I am aware of the cell volatility, but given a large enough bank and thus low enough r...

PIP-4048MS inverter

Hi All, I have developed software to monitor the PIP-4048 inverter more effectively. I would like to formally announce the launch of the SolarMon software. The software changed in accordance with user requests the past few months - a personal thank you to one and all that contributed and tested. The...

PIP-4048MS inverter

Hi weber,

Actually I can confirm it only speeds up the fans on higher loads not temperature.

My fans are at idle while running at 70 degrees and only speeds up when more load is applied.

Funny thing is is that the unit actually runs cooler under higher loads...

PIP-4048MS inverter

Just did some research - actually the Noctua and Arctic 80mm fans both move the same amount of air (about 52 m3/h). This is substantially less than what I can see the average generic fans run (about 96 m3/h). Whilst being noisy.... but regardless better.

PIP-4048MS inverter

Hi weber,

That is a consideration! I am not too much bothered about noise as the unit is in garage. Any recommendations to not compromise airflow?

PIP-4048MS inverter

Hi All, My inverter is actually the old style with top heatsink. The temp still runs at 70 as said. My firmware version is also 72.40 and I get the feeling that the fans are now running so slow that there exists a real problem with ventilation. Also - it has always been odd to me why the fans are bl...

PIP-4048MS inverter

Hi All, By means of introduction - I am another South African joining. I run a PIP 4048 on 2250W panels and 340Ah batteries. Well done on everybody's effort here - read the whole thread and very impressed. Just a question to those who has the information available: What is your average heatsink temp...
