I have experienced glitches Both on wired rs232 and via HLK-RM04 serial to tcp converters) when communicating with the inverters I think it may
be the cpu is interrupted doing higher priority tasks

Re: Weird Overnight Battery Discharge Axpert VM II Hybrid
Flooded batteries need periodic equalization charges for a 48v battery this is 64 volts (the reason for the 64v inverters) so a 24v battery will need 32 volts but this is done maybe once every 2 or 3 months But you first need to know what type of flooded battery you have is it a calcium battery has ...

If the commands for the MPPT board can be known then it would be easy to
program a Nextion display to control it I have programmed the Nextion display
to control the inverters.

It may be that IGBT failure is inevitable but one factor in this article is heat , keeping them as cool as possible may prolong their life

With 560Ah you should be ok with charging if you only have 160 amps of mppt I have 15 000 watts of panels and can see my current being over 200 amps today at my other system with 8760 watts of panels I had 116 amps of current from them. I have not noticed my daly shutting off but its not a 2 amp bal...

I have a daly bms with 16s 280ah battery now running for more than 12 months , two 4048ms the bms will do most of the work but you have to know that it will disconnect the battery for over voltage and over current events I still have a 225ah lead acid battery in parallel with the lifep04 battery for...

Charging to 64v is for flooded lead acid it is to gas the battery to stir up the acid and to
de-sulfate them but it is only for a short time so check to see what battery type it is set to.

Re: Small solar system. Suitable controller?
The other solution to a small system is a BMS with an output to drive a relay
to cut off charging the relay can be inserted in the solar panel circuit so
that it disconnects the panels

The place to buy the capacitors from would be au.element14.com , au.rs-online.com/web/
www.digikey.com.au , au.mouser.com , www.wagneronline.com.au the only places you can have any confidence of quality parts.

My inverters do not always share the load equally I have a 731 load and they are 390 341
while the washing machine is running , inductive loads give the most mismatch.

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
The problem of using excess solar is like the MPPT you have to adjust the load to the available excess power not doable with a fixed load like a water heater but you do not want to put switching spikes onto the output of the inverter as this would wear out the MOVs and may even damage the output tra...

I have 6 x PIP4048MS 4 in service and two spares most manufactures only think of 5 -7 years for the life of a product
so I made the decision for spares and when nearly 9 years ago the 6 were about the cost of two of the others on the market.

The lamps in vehicles use "small bayonet lamp holder" so two 24v lamps and two lamp holders would do the job with the lamps in series you get 48v and the current would only be a few amps with a push button switch to do the pre-charge which you hold down then release after you operate the m...

Cheap resistors can be found in your car "light bulbs" (as long as its not one with LEDs) a brake light would make a good pre charge
you know when it is ready the light goes out.

Be careful with that dc-dc converter as its not isolated very likely the negative will be negative 48v battery
its much better to use isolated dc-dc converters element 14 has 2 amp 5v ones for AU $21 (convert to your currency)

Re: Lifepo4 and Lead Acid a working combination
The problem with the electrolyte stratifying is part of the recommendation (trojan battery pdf) to charge to 62 volts for flooded cells the other is reducing sulfating. The pulse charging needs to be short bursts it mainly benefits sealed batteries needing to be short enough to not cause gassing. I ...

To answer :what are my lead acid doing" My inverters are lead acid based in original form with a max of 60 volts which is not enough for flooded lead acid (ok for sealed lead acid) which need 62-64 volts if there is no battery connected the inverters will suffer damage this can occur if the Lif...

More info on batteries and how I am doing it Flooded lead acid need 62 volts for a proper charge so almost all chargers do not charge them properly sealed lead acid should be kept below 57 volts but benefit from pulse charging to 62 volts . Regular maintenance is a must for lead acid so part of this...
