Re: Need2Charge app
This is a great idea. I saw a recent piece written by Bryce Gaton which mentioned the etiquette of charging beyond 80% at a public charger (bad etiquette).

Re: Horizon Power Charger info
I have been told that the system operator doesn't let scheduled generation drop below 700MW for some reason (does anyone know the reason?). We have been curtailing a lot of wind recently for sure.

Is this the same for other / all evs? Higher kw charging speed is more efficient?
Re: MG ZS EV
And a review of the car too please. Always interesting to hear how people live with their EVs in Western Australia.

Re: WA FIT reduced to 3c/kwh
Matt has a good point. I am not sure of the reasoning for the 5kW limit, whether technical or related to Synergy having the obligation to buy our spilled solar. I thought the now grandfathered FiT at flat 7.1c was effectively the value of generation, that is an energy price with embedded capacity pa...

This product has been reviewed on a couple of prominent EV channels on YouTube. Looks good for sure.

Hi Joseph
Do you have an estimate of range on the freeway PERTH climate (for comparison with their NEDC estimate)?
Thanks
Adam

Grid Tied Wind Turbine - Champion Lakes
Hi I saw something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/TECHTONGDA-400W-12V-Lanterns-Wind-Turbine-Generator-Vertical-Axis-Free-Shipping/184004140023?epid=6018825846&hash=item2ad7805bf7:g:7q0AAOSwWw1a6Usu at Champion Lakes today. It was sitting on the top of a roof, not elevated on a mast. Unfortunate...

Re: Tesla PW2
I hear they are model 3 cells. 5kW continuous draw I don’t know. It is supposed to, peak 7.2 for 10 seconds. I try to do my energy intensive work during the day when solar inverter augments. I have it set as though peak charges are from 7am-9pm. This is true if I consider anything above my 13c Syner...

Re: Tesla PW2
I have had the Powerwall installed. Been fiddling with the settings. Works as advertised. I see the last software with notes update added Western Australian 3-Phase support (something I heard about through my discussions). Latest update seems to add "grid services". On set-up you were asked whether ...

Re: Tesla PW2
So the original grid tie inverter would have to be removed to be able to fit the Powerwall? Here in South Australia, as soon as you touch anything to do with a grid tie system, the whole thing has to be renegotiated and generally results in a much smaller feed in tariff. The 6kW solar and 15.5kWh b...

Re: Tesla PW2
Hi Does anyone have current pricing in Perth for the Powerwall 2? Any installer that can be recommended? I have a quote from over east company but I am starting to worry about the install as they told me that western power is no longer allowing the install of powerwall 2s on single phase properties ...

Re: Heat pump hot water systems
Thanks for letting us know -I think that is a good price from my past searches into this. I used to think that roof top passive solar was the way to go but I think that these days, for less fuss if you aren't doing a new build, heat pumps are the way to go. The insulation looks like a good job (ex t...

Re: Heat pump hot water systems
Cool post re heat pump. I have very old gas HWS which still keeps on going, but once it finally dies I will look out for a heat pump and cut off the gas connection. I am on the old smart power too - so would like a system that can run with the sunny shoulder and off peak times for boost if needed. F...

I wonder if it would work on the vectrix if I changed over plugs.

Re: Leaf at Pickles auctions: 7 bars left
I have tried to find out the cost of a replacement leaf battery (in thinking about the value of getting a second hand model as a city car). But I haven’t found anywhere that actually provides a certified quote. I have seen wide cost ranges though. Is this $9000 plus labour something that has been qu...

WTB: Vectrix (or functional equivilant)
I have a Vectrix. Easily does 100kmh. Does 80km easy in mixed riding. Great to ride one or two up. I have only 13000 on it so many many years on lion cells before I can justify the upgrade to leaf cells or better. So good.
