Savic Motorcycles

I searched, but there is no mention of Savic on this forum. So anyway they are a new EV motorcycle manufacturer based in Melbourne. The bikes start at $13k (AUD I assume? I hope!) Personally the style doesn't gel with my needs but the specs are and prices are on point. At least we have 2 production ...

Re: Importing Leaf ZE1 (current) model..

So... this old thread hey. My JDM 2017 ZE1 G spec is hopping on a boat in a day or two to come to Australia (ETA 5th Feb). Bought it through Jspec at auction. And at a great price too, we're looking at ~$31.7 + rego. Bonus leather seats! 40,000km? Picked a nice dark blue which was never available he...

Re: Automatic charging

Turns out if you press the start charge button while not plugged in it will automatically start charging when you do plug it in. Which is perfect... I can prepare for auto-charging by turning the tp-link switch off, and then hit the start charge button on the bike and let the software take over the ...

Re: Graphical charging monitor

This is a more complicated couple of charging sessions, one which was cut short because I left to go somewhere, before turning around in the rain and getting the car. What's hard about rendering this one, is the graph cuts across midnight where the power meter's daily usage drops back to zero. So ma...

Re: Automatic charging

I did some more work on the script this morning: - Added timeouts for collecting info on the plugs, one of our wifi access points has issues with MDNS packets and if it's not discoverable it should timeout rather than hang indefinitely. - I wrapped the login to solarweb in a function so that if it f...

Re: Automatic charging

So I got a TP-link HS110 today at JbHiFi, they are on sale. And it seems to connect and work quite nicely. And as it turns out there is a python module for talking to the kasa cloud and therefor the device: https://github.com/python-kasa/python-kasa Seems I'm not far off having it work. I do have to...

Automatic charging

So I have solar at my place. And I have a script that can read the current output of the solar panels and do something. Like switch on a power point. Lets assume that I can find a device that I can script easily. What I'd like is the Vectrix to automatically charge as soon as it gets power. Now it d...

Re: Importing Leaf ZE1 (current) model..

So I finally got around to test driving one today. A GEN2. The local Nissan dealership has taken over a month of us trying to contact them and still not provided an agreeable time to test drive. Today I just walked in unannounced and they let me drive it. Holy shit it's nice. Smooth, quiet, comforta...

Re: BATHOT, no fans running... what to do?

The fans do run for me in normal operation. I can hear them after riding for a while and then stopping, esp on hot days or harder riding+regen. Is there a concern if I continue to ride while in this state? Obviously the bike would've returned to ambient temp while I was at work all day. But the trip...

BATHOT, no fans running... what to do?

https://imgur.com/OeVHuPD.jpg As some of you are aware we had buckets of rain over the weekend, and my bike was parked out in it. So I'm guessing their might be water somewhere where it shouldn't be. This only showed up as I was arriving at work, some 23km from home. My concern is that it's not goi...

Yes, we are able to convert both the audio unit and the instrument cluster into English. We would need the units to be shipped to us for conversion. Costs in NZD are Audio Unit: $475 Inst Cluster: $400 DHL Shipping: $65.00 Total: NZD$940 Hmmm. So the answer is "Yes"... but "Noooooooooooo!"

Re: Importing Leaf ZE1 (current) model..

That's an extraordinarily good price - I have a feeling that's excluding a quite of other costs; for example, we have importers here in Perth trying to sell 30 kWh Leafs straight out of Japan for that kind of money. If it's drive away, then you're right, it's clearly the cheaper way to go. And pote...

Re: Importing Leaf ZE1 (current) model..

Have the rules changed regarding imports? How come you can now 'grey' import a 40kWh leaf when that's what Nissan are selling? Yes, last year the laws changed and particularly for EVs and Hybrids you can import models that weren't sold here. Because Nissan took their precious time releasing the 2nd...

There's a market for crashed 40 kWh Leafs though - their battery fits right inside a 2012 Leaf, and can be tricked to work nicely thanks to the guys in NZ and Quebec. So a 2012 Leaf is what $15k at best here? And the battery from a 40kwh Leaf is $"n"k, lets say 10? Someone needs to install, test an...

Thinking of importing a ZE1 Leaf... Does the 40kwh model (current) have much in the way of battery degradation issues like the 30kwh?
