Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Yes, our patches are free and open-source. Yes, we would prefer that Voltronics would fix the bugs and implement the improvements in their source code for their factory firmware. They might do that. Hello Sir Thanks for your reply and suggestion. We will provide these information to our technical r...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Alternatively, you could tell them that yes, the problem was apparently caused by updating to main firmware 73.00. But it is fixed now, because you have reflashed with Coulomb and Weber's patched firmware 73.00b. Or if you want to keep your life simple, you could just say it is fixed now because yo...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

UPDATE: The inverter works but the SCC no longer works. After an unsuccessful try at downloading a firmware update to the SCC I checked the plugs and this time I actually read the PCB markings and realised that I had the two four pin plugs swapped between the LCD board and the SCC for the CAN. Now ...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Under these conditions, I don't think you can update the SCC firmware. I assume you've checked for ≥ 60 VDC at the PV input with a multimeter? Yeap, measured about 100v DC. A command prompt window isn't quite the same as MS-DOS, but they appear to work much the same from the user's point of view. J...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Did you see the section on Updating the SCC at the end of this long post. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?p=64096#p64096 The msdos does not recognise the command regsvr32.exe. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Wsd6symksYOBTCa8wWfii_unT6gYjxG_ I read the SOP and have used msdos before in the...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

[ Edit Coulomb: Arrgh! I've edited instead of quoted again. Sigh. Most of the post is missing, sorry. ]

The SCC firmware is showing as 00000.00 and PV volts=0 and PV watts=0 during the day. It's like the SCC is dead.

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Installing the firmware update 73.00b made the error 90 disappear and the inverter section is now working but the SCC part no longer works. Any advice? WatchPower is showing Secondary CPU version 00000.00. - not good. Looks like I will have to install my old PCM 60X to do the SCC job. I bought my PI...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Unfortunately, if I'm right, you'll have to take it up with your supplier, and ask pointed questions about the legality of the firmware. Unfortunately also, again if I'm right, the firmware will have locked out firmware updating. My inverter is still communicating with Watchpower. I have sent an em...

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

My inverter just stopped working. It shows error 90, no error 90 is included in the manual. Does anybody know what error 90 means?

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Beta Version of Patched Firmware 73.00a Thanks for the great work you guys do, Coulomb and Weber. I updated my PIP4048MS to your latest beta firmware a couple of days ago. Not sure whether I needed it or not as I was running the latter version. You can see a graph of your beta 73.00a firmware at wo...

I hope your battery cabinet is fire-proofed. I use 54.7v for bulk charge and 53.7v for float charge.

PIP-4048MS inverter

That's great news, John. I look forward to hearing how the modified version goes. I have started using a Goodwe GW2500-BP dc-dc converter to charge the battery pack so I will no longer be using the patch. On the GW2500-BP all charge parameters are configurable without having to communicate with a B...

PIP-4048MS inverter

Lopezjm2001 has an unusually high parasitic load on his battery. Weber determined that he needs a slightly different charge terminating condition, and sent him a modified LiFePO4 patched firmware (a patch on a patch, if you like). Alas, this firmware update was interrupted, and now his machine does...

PIP-4048MS inverter

Once you load Coulomb's patched firmware, it will take it up to absorb voltage before falling back to float, as it should. In that case, you can expect the current to fall to zero immediately when it goes to float stage, because its state of charge will have already been taken up to 100% (or close ...

a trick to reduce this hold current is to put a resistor in series with the coil shorted by a set of normally closed contacts. Good idea. PIP-4048MS inverter

[quote="weber"] Lopezjm2001, you have an unusually high bypass current of 2.25 A because of your 3 parallel strings. I would expect this bleeding current to decrease as the battery packs balances. But the BMS master current would usually be less than 0.1 A. According to my centralised mini-BMS manu...

PIP-4048MS inverter

It depends on your maximum charge current setting, parameter 02. If that's 120, for example, then the limit will be 4 A, since max(4, 1) = 4. Just checked and mine was set to 60 amps. I have now changed it to 120 amps. See how we go later on today. It's a bit cloudy today so it may not happen. Than...
