ChargePoint McDonalds Dural
I don't know how easy payment by kwh would be but that is obviously the fairest. If not, I think $10 is pretty steep considering how little energy you'll actually get if you sit there and read the paper and eat a burger for an hour or 2. Maybe $5 seems more reasonable. Or a big discount if you spend...

Is this going to be an initiative across all McDonalds or just this one in Dural?

I-MiEV oops almost ran out
Recently we drove about 140 km then got to 0 on the RR and turtle mode. We were on our dead end road which is 500 m long. So we braved it and drove up and down 10 times - 5 km in total with the car still driving. Somewhere along the way the aircon turned off (we figured in for a penny, in for a poun...

NSW iMiEV owners - meet and greet
central coast is as far as i can get and still get home within a reasonable time, the leaf owners group did have a meet up at shelly beach at the carvan park there because of mutliple 15amp powerpoints. This may be do-able even for Sydney owners, especially if they drop in at Castle Towers or Westf...

iMiev "Special Offer" in Berwick, Victoria
Oh don't feel bad as Christmas - New Years period is the worst time to try to organise such a thing. Yes that 100km radius is a must as I hardly ever get over 100km from a full charge. The best I've managed was 104kms the day I bought my Miev and travelled north in order to get home from Ryde. I go...

iMiev "Special Offer" in Berwick, Victoria
That's where I bought my 2012 with 28 kms on it. They apparently bought up a whole lot of iMiEVs. The owner of the used car lot is sold on them.
I paid $25,000 for basically a new 2012 (warranty until end of 2020) which is less than the the VIC mob have been trying to sell used 2010s.

That's getting then down to the price that the dealerships in NSW & WA have been selling them for a while (checkout carsales.com). Not sure why VIC took so long to drop the price. I think there's a glut on the market of used lease iMiEVs which is making it hard for used dealers to keep the price hig...

Gear differences 2012 D, C, B
I can't tell a diff in acceleration between B/D/C on my 2012 iMiEV. I personally prefer driving in B and minimising the use of my brakes (and maximising battery regen). I get the worry about no brake light. Last week some guy had to slam on his brakes behind me as my regen kicked in when the speed l...

10 Amp charging
I've purchased my Volt EVSE and plugged it in to charge up. It charged just like my iMiEV EVSE - or I couldn't discern any difference. Nothing got hot and the battery topped up. I now have a portable charger that I can use in a friend's garage without the need for a special plug or adapter. When I f...

Charging cable has died!!!
I have no idea about the warranty but I'd sure try. It costs a bomb (I've heard over a grand) to replace the cable with an official Mitsubishi one. I've recently purchased a Volt cable from my local Holden dealer for $350. It has a 10 Amp plug and works fine for charging (the once I tried it). I bou...

It is good that they all have the same acceleration in all modes! I was surprised in my dad's 2010 in Eco mode to find it has restricted power even when you press the accelerator hard into the floor. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley1.gif Oh, well, um.... confession... Thanks for the manual. It's almost the same car I have. I think the US model has a few differences. This model has eco mode where I have C (cruising?) mode. I'm finding I prefer driving in B mode. I am pretty comfortable with the level of braking and so I know when to remove my foot from the acceler...

we discussed keys before http://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?title=price-of-second-remote-key-imiev-400&t=4203 and yes the extra key with central locking wasn't cheap. it's worth asking your dealer if the local to you dealership can do it for you. some of these guys get along some don't. most o...

I honestly don't know what a spare costs. I was given one key with my "new" 2012 iMiEV (the 2nd key was lost somewhere in the 2 years the car was parked wherever it was parked). The dealer agreed I needed a second key so ordered it for me at their cost (I had no idea how generous that offer was). Th...

Hmmm, that's a good and bad story. Sounds like good anti-theft magic but it means I need to pay Mitsubishi a small fortune if I want a spare key. Oh well, just one of those compromises there's no point in fighting against.

Not necessarily Laura... My bike has an engine immobiliser, but that just means it wont start without the right key. Okay. I just need to figure out how limited "right key" is. I might get a cheapo key cut (without the central locking) and see if it works. I wouldn't mind a spare key but think $100...

As an aside, this Wikipedia page warns about charging outside of 0-45 degrees C. Can cause battery damage so depending on time of year and where you live you may want to watch out for this.

I think I've read somewhere (can't find it again however) that its best to run the battery down low before recharging it. Is that correct, and where is the definitive list of do's and don'ts? I can't find the "definitive list" but this article (and I'm sure many others) http://www.carshowroom.com.a...

Anybody figure out how this works for the 2012 model? (Sorry, I still don't have an owners manual.) The specs say "Anti-theft encrypted engine immobiliser" is Standard so I'm guessing I've got it. But I've got no idea how to use it.
