Re: 2019 mitsubishi outlander - concerns/risks
We had our 2014 Outlander for 5 years. The only trouble we had was flat tyres We also had a flat tyre in our PHEV, first flat in about 30 years of driving, so the stock PHEV tyres are quite susceptible (tradies screw in our case). At the time of the puncture we still had the Mitsu roadside assist w...

Re: Used Outlander PHEV - concerns/risks
Can someone give a clarity about battery warranty in Australia? The current owner told me that it was 5 years warranty for 2015 model and later on they started doing 8 years warranty. So if we buy it and the battery is crap is there anything we can do? Apart from the published warranty, there is a ...

Re: Aftermarket iMiEV battery upgrade project
The real bad news is that when I took the car for short drive, I noticed that regeneration is not working anymore. You've probably considered this, but anyway - I have found with our iMiEV, however much more noticeable with the PHEV, that when the battery was near new and is fully charged, it can't...

Re: Parts car?
I’m installing an Espar D5 hydronic heater and want the install to look and feel as stock as possible. Before you go to all that expense, just checking you have ruled out using something like this - https://www.autobarn.com.au/ac62514 I haven't used one myself, however I remember hearing of other i...

Re: Used Outlander PHEV - concerns/risks
Questions: To preserve the battery long term, can the Outlander be set to stop charging at 80 or 90%? No, however there are top and bottom SOC buffers built into the battery charging to supposedly make this unnecessary. Has the battery changed from 12 to 13.8kWh at the same time as the 2.0 to 2.4L ...

Re: i-miev brought from Darwin
There was an i-miev that that was brought in Darwin recently, if you like to know more of the history of this, let me know as I can give a little more info and the battery situation. Yes I'm interested to hear about the SOH of the battery if you know what percentage of it's driving was done in NT? ...

Re: PHEV Loss of Km Range with Battery.
Is there any new information on the battery issue that I should factor into my buying decision? I have read on a Facebook PHEV group that the MY19/20 has a "BMU bug" and there is a fix being rolled out for it. In general, passively cooled batteries like the PHEV are never going to last as long as a...

Re: i-MiEV Range *no discussion*
The accessories I worked on were the Sat-Nav and radio for the vehicle (they were good at the time!) as well as the immobiliser. Ah yes, forgot the sat-nav was specific to the few original Aussie iMiEV. I was surprised when they dropped that sat-nav and keyless for the subsequent model, big step ba...

re Doug, I'm interested in the accessories, do you mean iMiEV accessories, as I didn't know there were any?

Scantools? Is there a model number to narrow the search? Re: Minicab miev revisions
Not sure how I can test the battery pack before purchase? The guy I know in NSW who purchased a Minicab got the seller (I think he purchased from the importer here in Oz who has brought in quite a few Minicabs) to run EvBatMon on their stock so he could picked the best of the bunch. Not so easy if ...

Re: Minicab miev revisions
The latest one I can find is a 2014 with 20-30k on the clock... Are these still likely to get 100km range around town? I'm not a Minicab owner myself however I know 2 owners, one in NSW and another in QLD. I had an iMiEV for 4 years and from that experience and from collecting battery data from my ...

Re: Used Outlander PHEV - concerns/risks
warranty goes with the vehicle....so there’s a possibility of making a claim for another battery. Seems unlikely to me that Mitzu do this willingly, and I’ve learned that I’d need a copy of the old promise that they have since removed evidence of, the ‘no lower than 80% in eight years’. Can anybody...

Re: Used Outlander PHEV - concerns/risks
Any indication on how MMAL are handling the battery degredation - are those with genuine issues getting theirs replaced without too much fuss? MMAL are quite easy to deal with since plenty of owners (led by uTube "unpluggedEV" and teamPHEV) have paved the way, 3 stern emails and about 3 months wait...

Re: Used Outlander PHEV - concerns/risks
Sounds like a PHEV would fit your requirements quite well. Remember this is 10 year old tech, and soon will be superseded by fully electric BEV, just waiting for the price to come down. Is there anything to look out for with a used one? any particular models to avoid or check for issues with? Some A...

Jan 2012 Mitsu iMiEV - energy level gauge at full charge 64km typically - Mitsu Dealer test says 72% traction battery capacity. Wow that's not great, our 2011 had around 87km range when we sold it and it had done 80Kkm. If you like fighting, you could try for a claim under statutory warranty, there...

do you know any website actually collect these data? Users of our App EvBatMon can upload their PHEV SOH/PMC data to our cloud portal to compare with other owners. We now have much more data than the graph below from 2016, but it still gives you an idea - http://evpositive.com/battery-history.html

Re: iMiEV tyre wear status
I let off the gas going into the turn, no brake. The car nearly instantly swapped ends. I have spun out lots of cars and love drifing, so I know quite well what it feels like. I have never ever seen a car swap ends as fast as the MIEV did. It was completely uncontrollable; the stability control did...

costing $13,000 for a replacement battery pack Is that the price you've seen on insurance receipts, or an educated guess? I'm interested as this is the first price I've seen for a PHEV battery. I've seen a couple of iMiEV pack prices which have varied from $5k (subsidised we suspect) to about $14k ...
