I am looking for a schematic for a Curtis controller model 1208-2455.
Have searched the Internet but came up with zero.

Thank you

Hi Christopher,
Keep it going.. and remember to put the brushes back in the same position and orientation that they were in.
When you say the rotor is moving - wouldn't that mean the bearings are loose?

My Motor Died
Hi Christopher, The pattern on the commutator resembles the ridges on the brushes. Once the brushes have no ridges visible either end then the car can be driven. Until then there will be too much current (if you drive it) going through a small percentage of the brush surfaces which will cause excess...

Hi Christopher,
The only way to tell is to take a brush out and inspect it.
My brushes came with curved faces close to the finished requirement and still took 270 hours of constant running to match the commutator.
Your commutator came up nice.
Eric

GBS cell smell question
If the cells are just sitting there, there should not be any smell coming from them, they (or some of them) must have faulty valves.
I have not used GBS cells but have had experience with Thundersky, Calb and Winston cells.

Hi Jason,
Looking good!.
To protect your polycarbonate sheet, you can get a Prius mat from the US (ebay) as I used. This Prius Gen 2 mat wasn't available in Australia.
I found some on eBay when searching for "prius cargo mat"

From past experience of fellow converters who started with Lead Acid batteries... They last about 18 months, if you are lucky, and then comes the making of a new battery frame/box for the replacement Lithium cells. The other thing hard about using Lead Acid is that in most states a sealed box, with ...

Hi Christopher,
In my video the sparking stopped at 21 hours of "bedding in" and then the brushes required another 249 hours of "bedding in" until they matched the commutator.
My motor had done less than 20,000km before the brushes were distroyed.

I had a problem the the top set of brushes in my ADC X91-4001 motor and had replacements made by cortela.com.au Ron Rigg (0432762530) is my contact. I replaced all the brushes at once, but then bedded them in for about 20 days continuous running on a 12V power supply (about 40Amps) See YouTube video...
