Current State of Battery Tech

So what is the life expectancy of the lithium's? Is it worth looking at the used ones at all?

Current State of Battery Tech

So after 4 years we are really in about the same state as we were cost wise as far as lithium's go?

Maybe I should leave it for another 4 years :)
(Just kidding).

Many thanks for the info

Current State of Battery Tech

Hi Johnny
So for around $1000 you would get a bank of LiFePO4, as per jonescg's post earlier, that would get you around 150 k's range?

Thanks

Current State of Battery Tech

Thanks for the responses....it's been so long since I looked at all this so please forgive my ignorance regarding Lithium batteries as I am not very tech savvy but what would a standard EV conversion for a light vehicle using the LiFePO4 be cost wise? I remember I was looking at using about 8 - 10 l...

Hi, I haven't posted here for quite some time now and just wondering what the current state of battery technology and pricing is? A couple years back I was looking at doing an EV conversion using a lead acid bank and could only dream of having a set of Lithium's. What is the pricing like nowadays? T...

Heres a photo of the plate on the pump. http://www.polliefillers.com.au/forum/pump.JPG Nice suggestion on the 12 volt pump. :) Might look into that. It's just that this one was given to me and i have been wanting to get into a solar project for a while and using it as a bit of an excuse really. I a...

Hi. Not sure if the pump is 3 phase or single as it was given to me.....but....since my last post I have phoned a couple solar power places for advice and they basically told me to forget battery power and go with a solar power system as this will offset the cost of running a pump???? Also one guy I...

Thanks for that very informative answer. If things work out with this project I might even try my hand at a bank of batteries to run our pool pump as well.

Inverter for Pool Pump

Hi. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to run a 240 volt pool pump from a 12 Volt lead acid battery or a bank of them? I got a pump given to me and have hooked it up to my 5000 lt rainwater tank. Currently it's drawing from the grid but it would be great to run the pump from a solar rechargeable 1...

Hi. I spoke to a rep from Mistubishi today who told me that North Power have been running electric vehicles up and down the NSW coast till they die to gather location info for the installation of charging points. Wow... I did'nt think things would happen this quick. I guess if the Big Motor companie...

Hi Soyachips. I'm still looking for a VW body as a donor. The main thing that stopped me from getting that wilderness kit was firstly the import costs and also the size of the motors. I think they are a little under powered, especially the US2000.00 kit. I spend weeks looking into all the componentr...

Hey Rod. No offence taken at ALL...I've been around forums for years :) You do have a VERY valid point about the gas guzzlers though...It's that sector who's giving me the most flack about these EV conversions which is most upsetting...but, I plan to learn enough about this technology from the forum...
