Re: 2020 Ioniq
On a 100kW charger time to 80% 28kWh pack 23 minutes, time to 80% 38.3kWh pack 54 minutes. Isn't this expected since 80% of the old pack is 22.4kWh and 80% of the new pack is 30.64kWh? How long would it take to charge the new pack to 22.4kWh (~58%)? Hard to say without knowing the actual charging c...

Re: 2020 Ioniq
Really? All reports I've read suggest 100kW DC charging. The pack voltage is down from 360V in the 28kWh pack to 320V in the 38.3kWh pack. On a 100kW charger time to 80% 28kWh pack 23 minutes, time to 80% 38.3kWh pack 54 minutes. I compute average charge power 34kW for new pack versus 58kW for the ...

Re: 2020 Ioniq
There is a gotcha with the 38.3kWh Ioniq, slower DC charging rates due to different cell chemistry and lower pack voltage. Someone has done some back of the envelope calculations showing the 28kWh model can cover long distances faster than the 2020 model due to the slower charging rate (providing th...

Re: Zappi for charging i-MiEV
The Zappi will work fine with 2011 and later I-Mievs. It will be fine down to 6 amps. Zappi needs RCM approval for Australia but it turns out as they aren't listed (defined) there is a grey area. You can use adaptors any which way... Thanks for that. My I-MiEV is a 2012, sounds like I'm good to go....

Re: Zappi for charging i-MiEV
There are some signs of motion at Hyundai Australia on the Ioniq range: https://www.hyundai.com.au/cars/small-cars/ioniq I'd guess we would get UK spec cars with CCS type 2 combo.

Zappi for charging i-MiEV
Would a myenergi zappi http://myenergi.uk/product/zappi/ be good for charging an i-MiEV? I assume it could ramp up the charge rate a bit more than the standard cable. Can the i-MiEV cope with having the charge rate ramped down as Solar production falls? Is Zappi approved for Australian installation?...

iMiev Recall notice
I thought the failure mode was peppering you with lethal shrapnel? In a low speed shunt where the airbags are triggered it could kill you, when you would have been uninjured if it was disabled. Turn off and wear a helmet?

iMiev Recall notice
So i-MiEV has the lethal air bags too? This issue has been known about for ages, very poor of Mitsubishi to take so long to address the issue. Is is only the passenger front airbag? Would it be safer to disable it until it is replaced?

What about the Hyundai Ioniq Phev and EV? Is there a chance we will see them here soon? http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley24.gif The Hyundai dealer in Hobart has said they will be getting a charger installed later in the year for the introduction of the Ioniq. Optimistically, you may think th...

The idea was as long as yuasa are making cells for MM you will be able to get cells for your imiev. Even if for some reason you can't it's just a battery. Use another battery cell and rebuild The pack. I have a spare battery box in the shed from a wreck and it's a very simple layout. They are still...

What to replace i-MiEV with?
Why replace it just replace the battery. That's my plan for our 2012 imiev on its 10th birthday if it needs it. Kurt. I'm not sure it will be easy to replace the pack 10 years time. Also it seems to me I am running a risk of having to replace the pack in the 5-10 year period at my expense that woul...

What to replace i-MiEV with?
I just bought my first EV and all I could afford was a 2010 iMiEV. Now I am looking for an owners manual(sadly missing,I was led to believe it was there but its only an advertising leaflet). I am also looking for a Melbourne 2010 owner who can teach me a few tricks . Hope to catch up with you soon....

Wasn't really wanting a PHEV or a 2012 Leaf with a 5+ year old battery pack. i3 price is a bit too steep for the range you are getting. Simply can't afford Model S.

What to replace i-MiEV with?
When I first bought the i-MiEV I was thinking I could trade it in at the end of it's five year warranty on a new EV. I thought there would be a wider range of more reasonably priced cars to choose from. Looking ahead to 2018 seems that there won't be anthing but the overpriced BMW i3 and some kind o...

Recalls 2016
My VIN was outside the range for the motor controller recall. They had some large black cover plate off from the bottom of the car, masked off some areas with cardboard and spray painted some stuff under the car, don't know exactly what.

Recalls 2016
I got two recall letters, firmware for vacuum pump and the light stalk fix. Plus an extra surprise at the dealer, removal of the pan under the battery pack and treatment with anti corrosive paint, that kept the car in the workshop all day, when I was expecting to have the car back in an hour or so! ...

thanks for info Hippie403 what about temperature, wind direction and speed would other concur that the range of the imiev at 100kmh would be 80km? on the 88km trip it was 24C, wind light and variable. I-MiEV oops almost ran out
I have reassured myself that it really was just the wind causing me problems rather than a developing fault with the i-MiEV. Just made a 88km trip with 4 bars remaining instead of only making 90km of 100km trip with no bars remaining.

Conclusion: there is a lot more energy in those batteries than the car is telling you about. Disclaimer: this is just my personal experience, so don't blame me if you run out!!!
