Re: YAEBU! (Yet Another Emax Battery Upgrade) project

I don't know about the e-max but the similar scooter I have does fit 8 Leaf cells with a bit of modifying.
8 x 7.6 = 60.8V nom
But they're a bit harder to get these days :(

Re: Solar Panel output: Rating versus Reality

The sly trick the solar industry has used for ever is to not give true output figures in a real world application. Except the bit where they try to comply with international standards IEC 60904. Not surprisingly there are massive PV testing machines for IEC 60904. 1000W/m2 25DegC. In Austra...

Re: Solar Panel output: Rating versus Reality

I know the percentage loss is for total power, not just the Vmp, so the math is vague at best, but you get the general idea. The graph for the 150W panel indicates the peak power output drops ~10% every 25DegC above 25DegC. On a clear sunny summer day in Australia if you can't take a panel from ins...

Re: HP in EV vs HP in ICE

There may be some rules developed about how long the vehicle should run for. I can’t imagine an EV full of super caps that runs at well over the 2400hp of the V8, but can only accelerate for 10 seconds before needing a recharge would be considered in the spirit of the competition. At this stage I d...

Re: Zero Turn Mower Conversion

21HP (15kW) obviously is not used continuously in reality. Otherwise for an hour mow you would use 15kWh of battery capacity. That's a modest $7,500 battery pack... It maybe easier to work out how much petrol you use for a mow and try to convert that into a battery capacity. This would also give you...

Re: Arvio 3.5kWh drop-in-battery-replacement supercapacitor on sale

...hole in the roof or the opposite wall... Well I guess that matches the rest of the quality of the structure. So there is what like $10k of electronic stuff on a rough concrete bench and a hole in the wall. They tripled the value of the building. I'm guessing old school style laundry / wash house.

Re: Arvio 3.5kWh drop-in-battery-replacement supercapacitor on sale

The whole installation was substandard anyway compared to our standards. Perhaps the view of people are similar - they're all delusional to us but to them they have different levels of delusional. There was no over current protection between the (black) cap -ve and ground since it was all bolted to ...

That's dedication overlaying the two. So they DO match up bar the box not in the wide shot which is not relevant to the fire. There are a number of other things I notice now about the fire. The power point on the right has exposed cable hammered to the wall. So I'm thinking that their regulations ar...

Re: Seeking opinions on independent Twin motors with different gearing

I had a look around for some pics of the L710 AWD running gear but haven't found anything yet. Must be rare if I can't even get a picture of one. Possible only on the auto import bid sites that have them. I doubt importing a whole L710 would be cost effective. I still think a beefier version of the ...

Re: Seeking opinions on independent Twin motors with different gearing

Sorry I don't see what benefit you would get stuffing around with AWD. If you take 1st gear ratio + diff and add about 20% ie if was a turbo etc then using that torque direct drive you end up with around 200kW. So as if you were stuck in 1st gear with a turbo but still goes up to 150kph+ Estimated i...

Re: Arvio 3.5kWh drop-in-battery-replacement supercapacitor on sale

This is an interesting youtube link to a company supplying a supercapacitor product on a slightly larger scale.. with a storage of 1.5 MW... MW is POWER - NOT storage. Utility companies tent to provide info in terms of MW capability. How much instantaneous power they can provide. You could get a MW...

Sorry this thread is 5 years old. I'd reckon its close to 100% that it never was built. The $1000 value limit before gst is collected has also been lowered No its still $1,000. The difference now is that GST is collected from the supplier overseas. Under $1,000 customs still don't look at it. IF GST...

diamond shape aluminium plate be attach centre of the number plate Well that is great for standard plates that have a dot in the center.
