No this cell is toast - I believe it came out of Larry or Tom's iMiEV which had the battery replaced.
I thought it was out of the abandoned iMiEV.

Wow I've never seen one of those!
I haven't heard of anyone doing a conversion and not being able to get it through using the Modify form.
If its off the road then you can submit the form a few weeks before completion.

Common sense prevails!
If it doesn't follow NCOP14.

Yeah known Rod for years. Even though he lives 100's of k's from the Perth metro area he still managed to turn up to the odd AEVA meeting. That's dedication! I actually asked about one of the ME motors about a year or so ago. Unfortunately he did not have the model I was after in stock and the point...

Re: Diesel generator + Tesla vs Diesel car

TBH non-eV people would see this as 0.4L/100km of convenience to fill up a diesel car wheneva and whereva with more range. Really who could be bothered to save 55c/100km for all that electric car hassle? Just looking at it from the other side of the coin. Now can we see how far the diesel runs on su...

Re: Converting petrol quad bike to EV

A string of 48V headway is about $398 with 2.2km range.
A string of 48V LTO is $240 with 650m range
A String of ~48V Leaf is about $1000 with 12km range.

edit:added leaf

Ah yeah here's one
http://www.evalbum.com/4733
48V150Ah 54kph 32km 172Wh/km

 Yeah it'd be a biatch trying to get a tesla pack to fit.

6 leaf cells wouldn't be too bad.
That would be about 12km range.

How far do you think you would travel?

Re: Converting petrol quad bike to EV

Where do I find what power is needed to drive the quad bike, carrying an 85Kg rider on a steep property, mainly as a form of transport, not a performance vehicle. I have a small trailer (about 1M sq) which I would use to transport fencing material, feed, tools, etc. Regenerative braking would be de...

Welcome Tony from West Oz.

Rob hasn't been on here for 2 years.
I'd reckon it's a low probability that anything happened.

You're better off starting a new thread in technical discussions outlaying what you want you eV to do and then everyone can put in their 2c.

Re: Stolen / abandoned Leaf - Perth

Abandoned vehicles get dealt with by the local council. They sped a few months tracing the owner. If they cant be found or the owner refuses to pay impound fees then the title is cleared and put to a silent auction. The reason it would go to a police auction is if it was part of a crime and the owne...

Apart from reverse voltage fireballs mentioned above if parallel packs are not similar they can also unbalance which again ends up in fireballs. This will become more noticeable the more it's used. Another quick question with the motenergy 12kw/30kw It shows a rating of .15nm/amp output If I can jam...

Re: 18v Power tool batteries ?

I do remember some show TV where they used tool battery packs for a conversion.
Some of the packs were in parallel so they had common +/- rails mounted to some wood.

Well the wood had moisture in it and started smoldering.

Re: 18v Power tool batteries ?

Even the headway you'd need more like 66-100 to get 30kW peak. The 10Ah headway would more like $2,650 for 30kW. Not too sure on the cost for 15Ah cells. The LTO 2.4V 2.9Ah that I mention in another thread would be about $900 for 30kW peak. Downside is you'd only have like 5km range  But you'd ...

The start of the vid shows samsung as the battery supplier so they wont be Toshiba or possible even LTO's.

A peak current of 200A puts this in at 65C :o Claimed peak power is 420W which means peak power is at 60C. So a 2kWh($3,500/44kg) pack would have 120kW peak. And with normal use 40,000 cycles... All they have to do now is make the internal battery structure last 100 years.(shelf life) Nice v...

There was another segment last night on the Drum on ABC on the same subject. (Adam Spencer)
It seemed more objective rather than beating the eV community into the ground.

All irrelevant tho.
On the TV show last week "10 things.. about the future" - we are getting flying cars!
The irony was that they thought we needed some complex swarm algorithm to stop people crashing into each other.
