Re: Is BYD ‘consumption’ linear ?.

Has anyone run a BYD Seal (or any BYD) down below 10% and noticed if it’s linear range remaining - or dodgy and collapses towards the end?. After 215 kms it claimed 65% remaining……..but when back @100% Zappi said it took 35 kWh, so it doesn’t add up. What EVSE are you using and what current? The lo...

Re: Is BYD ‘consumption’ linear ?.

So a trip to the big smoke yesterday and 280 kms later the SOC has gone from 100% down to 52%………and range remaining around 320 kms ……hmmm. However it took 45 kWh to top up the 82 kWh battery - so it simply doesn’t add up . The old tesla averaged 118 Wh/km over 115,000 km and I could expect a fairly...

Re: Charging a Seal from my Tesla wall charger

If it's a Gen 2 wall connector there is an internal dip switch that will enable legacy mode. But if the version isn't 00,01 or 02 it won't charge non Teslas regardless of switch position.

Re: Cybertruck cultural context

They've just added the ability to switch of DRLs to the Atto3. A very welcome upgrade. Wouldn't mind if they came on automatically in Drive mode, but its nice to be able to turn off while parked with aircon, v2L etc going. If vehicles are not even required to have them I don't see a point in an ADR...

-There's no where to pick up 12V positive, so a long orange wire with an inline fuse is supplied to go all the way to the front of the car and wire to the 12v battery. When the Atto was bring stripped apart I noticed there is a BCM inside near the RH rear quarter panel area. I'll have to look at th...

Re: Goodwe GW2500-BP GCL 5.6kWh battery

Problem with the original BP series is that there was only 1 MPPT input and output. A lot of installs have 2 MPPT strings so you end up losing out.

My S-BP is awesome though.

Re: Kona owners: oil and magnetic plug change recommended!

I had a reduction box last 17000kms in my 2019. The oil was black and chokkas full of metal. First off at he dealer service they test drive the car and said it was normal. It wasn't. Then I organised an oil sample myself and rebooked a service clutching the oil sample in the hand. The Service Manage...

Re: WA EV Network

I don't understand your post. To me CHAdeMo to Type 2 means I could take a CHAdeMo source, apply that to the adaptor, and then use Type 2 to my car. This is complicating AC to or from DC, and also different communication protocols. I think you may have been imagining the opposite, would you be able...

I share your frustration, considering the McGowan government imposed a tax on PHEV users some of who cannot fast charge at said taxpayer funded charging stations.

WA EV Network: Currently no sites with CHAdeMO plugs. If I recall correctly not all of these WA EV network sites contain a type 2 charger either. Geraldton comes to mind and possible Esperance. If the WA EV Network site has a single Kempower DC charger then AC backup is provided. With dual DC it is...

Re: WA EV Network

New service station developments don't install LPG bowsers anymore. Because the demand isn't there.

Same thing with ChaDeMo. It's dead.

The Federal NRMA network will include them as ARENA funding will be involved.

Soft motor mounts or rear wheel bearings. Both issues with Early I-Mievs.
