Is there a possibility for custom firmware for the 3024MSE?.
As a point of interest, what features were you hoping for in a patched firmware?
LifePo4 charging support for AVASS cells... :-). But it appears setting bulk and float to the same voltage might work.

Re: PIP-4048MS inverter

Is there a possibility for custom firmware for the 3024MSE?. Sorry Reecho, but no. At least not from Coulomb and I. As you can imagine, it is very time-consuming work. Keeping up with PIP-4048MS firmware, and hopefully soon PIP-5048MS firmware, when new version come out, is as much as we can handle...

Once a cell drops below 2.75v it's like someone turns off the light switch. Goneski.

That's what has happened.

After 8 years the batteries will be getting on. Unfortunately the replacement pack is worth almost twice what the car is.

Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info

It is that simple, I didn't say the Kona would be $67,000 in Australia, I just posted what the NZ price is in Australian dollars, in case other people were interested. That is what it would cost in Australian dollars if you go to New Zealand and buy one. At the moment you can't buy one in Australia...

Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info

Converts to around $67,000 in Australian Dollars. It's not that simple. NZ does not have a free trade agreement with SK. Add to that the market is much smaller that AU. Jump onto the Hyundai NZ page and compare pricing to the locally delivered models. You will get a sense of the scale. Example: in ...

Whats the size of the Goodwe SBP you scored
The 5Kw version.

I think I have managed to stumble on the CAN BUS protocols. As you would expect it looks like they have copied Sunny Boy's Island product, just with a few changes.

Why am I not surprised.. :-)

Re: AVASS Battery order details

Do you recon I should order the ES 5048 or just AC Couple with the SBP GW5000S and leave the Fronius alone ? Its getting exciting. I'm inclined to leave any existing PV/Inverter in place and adding the AC coupled retrofit. I haven't found a hybrid inverter that does everything I need at a reasonabl...

Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info

I guess when NZ pricing is released we might some idea... No we wont. As I have said before Renault and Hyundai in NZ are effectively "franchises" not factory backed like Australia. Example: 2018 Hyundai Accent Manual Hatch here $18900 D/A. In NZ they are $28990. Ioniq BEV is $59990 in NZ. Likely t...

That switch on the vehicle side - is it a microswitch built into the Type-2 car charge port?
That switch isn't strictly required. But you could put it in next to the charge port. With it activated it holds the charger in a ready to charge state.

882 ohm resistor and 1N4148 diode between pilot signal and ground.

You can add a pin if you can source the OEM Yazaki one. Tesla Destination chargers have a beef with Mitsubishi cars in general.

Re: Making a conversion J1772 / IEC 62196 capable

You could use a resistor across a multi turn switch and command the charger that way to reduce current, but the risk there is that if a 10A EVSE is plugged in and the switch was set to 32A you will have one roasted EVSE in a matter of minutes. There is something like this from Thunderstruck EV, whic...
