Re: Odometer tax?

A price per km is fairer all round but the government could make the rate for EV's lower as an incentive....As CJ mentions it was never indexed so it hasn't kept up with CPI. The sticking point is that EV's will be (at least short term) heavier in weight than an equivalent ICE vehicle and will have ...

Re: 2010 Imiev charging question

I spoke to Phil about his "frankenstein" adaptor.

He agreed it's not really the best way to do it. Legacy mode inside the HPWC is the better bet.

Re: 2010 Imiev charging question

If your I-Miev doesn't have the 5th pin fitted to the J1772 socket on the car you can not use EVSE's. Easy to check visually.

Re: 10 Amp charging

2010 I-Miev's pull 13 Amps all the time. that will explain the continuous tripping or the breaker in the Amphibian. Can't reduce it easily either as these models do not have PWM charge control.

Re: BEVs in Australia

I wanted to record here an ad-hoc survey of manufacturers and their plans to introduce BEV (Battery Electric Vehicles) into Australia. Like most people I expect there will be a future tipping point when Australian vehicle vendors finally decide to unleash a wave of BEVs onto our market. Here is a p...

Re: BEVs in Australia

Actually the I-Miev has not been available for order for at least 2 years. I've seen conflicting reports, would be nice to see something official from Mitsubishi, though it really doesn't make much difference whether they are officially available or not if no one is buying them. I spoke to Craig No...

Did you try Mitsubishi? Last I heard they said you could still get an i-MIEV if you were prepared to pay full retail and wait for it to be imported. Not expecting anyone to actually do so.

Yes the value is available in MUT-3 that MMAU use for diagnostics. When a battery recalibration is performed that value is reset as well and repopulated after driving.

Renault EVs

I have been told Renault are closely evaluation the EV market in Australia again. I wouldn't be surprised to see them introduce the Kangoo and/or Zoe to our market in the next few years. Hopefully with the push by Tesla, Hyundai, Nissan and BMW this will force their hand. I strongly believe the Ren...
