This is i project car i started, but do not have the time and funds to complete. This Eunos 30x has a 10" DC motor coupled to the original gearbox (without the clutch). The car is not registered and does not have batteries at the moment. I had it driving 2 years ago with 12, 12v 100Ah lead acid batt...

Amnon's EV-30x
Ev-30x has been run on the lead acid batteries but they only provided a few km's range due to their poor condition. The car accelerated reasonably well for the amount of weight, and i have only had it running up to 60km/h so far. The project has been on the backburner for a while, but now needs to b...

whats a cop gonna do, pull out his portable bike dynometer? http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley5.gif amptest your motor? Im sure a tidy looking 200W sticker stuck on the motor would go along way unless the cop has any kind of mechanical or electrical background http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys...

i got some quotes for the green-saver batteries. Prices were very reasonable ! I ended up getting 12 Ex UPS 75Ah AGMs(25kg each) for $35 each just to get my ev up and running. Who knows, they may even last a year or so. There will be 6 AGMs in the engine bay and 6 in a box where the back seats would...

I have been looking around for lead acid batteries for my conversion. -I need 45km min range. -I like to keep the weight down and would rather have to charge more often and get better efficiency. - My budget for batteries is ~$2400 max Here are several batteries i have been looking at Interstate 100...

Hi Ron, Does the Sherpa weigh 850 with 360kg worth of batteries? That must be a truly light car. Im starting with a car that weighs 900kg with engine out and no batteries. "You can get watering systems that don't require you to access the batteries to top up the water." Would you just run a pipe alo...

I recently got a 2.2kW cont. 4 stroke gen for a good deal(not inverter type). The next step is working out how to get about ~160Vdc for charging a 144VDC battery system. For a budget charging system could i just get a rectifier and transformer. Would smoothing capacitors be required or can batteries...

Re-"excess power is available with a PV>GCI rating rather than having to go via 50Hz mains and back through charger to EV battery ?" You dont want to go from GCI back to DC again. round trip could be as bad as 75-80% eff. The inverter needs to be sized at the PVpeak capacity rating. If voltage is hi...

Hi Matt, Thanks for replying. From my calculations i anticipate 130Wh/km(based weight, rolling resistance and air drag coeff.) The car is a mazda eunos 30x 1993. Ill try and get it as efficient as possible once on the road i.e. skinny tyres, lubricated bearings, light oil in the transmission.(shocks...

Im trying to work out a battery system for my EV. LiFePO4 are a bit out of my price range at the moment. I need 50km range to get from home to uni. Sealed lead acids are kind of expensive, not all that much cheaper than LiFePO4's Ive been considering flooded lead acid batteries because they are chea...

ohh ok, but how would you match the frequency and phase(so the generated wave in phase with the grid) ?
thats a good idea, Inverters are expensive

excuse my ignorance, but why would the voltage rise? Most GC inverters output 230V +-10V.
Ive seen inverters in my local area where the external grid voltage was 250V which caused the inverter to shutdown(overvoltage safety).

If your roof faces north at an inclination of between 5-30 degreess you can expect about 1500kWh/year per kW capacity installed. The goventment figure geerally used i Sydney for calculating RECs is 1382kWhkWh/year per kW capacity installed. Our 3.6kW system can get up to about 1700kWh/year. This doe...

High power chargers tend to be very expensive. Im just thinking ahead here, I want to build a 144V high power charger for lithium thunder-sky batteries when i get them. To be able to charge the pack in about an hours would require a charger that can deliver in excess of 8kW. Is this option possibly ...

Completely agree, i forgot green power.
Im glad to hear there not using the RECS from the solar credit scheme. Those RECs are a joke.

"Why get an EV?" Im sick of serving the ICE and its general unreliability (although i do have a 18 Year old car). When my EV is built i will be looking forward to the following benefits; - Improved reliability, less components, and systems. (e.g. no leaking cooling systems), less servicing - Simplic...
