found this interesting story, the Renault Twizzy EV, 12Kwh battery, 19Kw motor, is now open source, software, and vehicle platform.   apparently can be imported almost anywhere as its not a complete car, but a rolling platform, waiting to be built into anything you want..

Complies to Euro and US specs, but wonder how it would be in Oz?

Renault has brought one in for evaluation.

But our licensing laws prevent them being licensed here. It can't be classified yet.

Even if it's brought in kit form the restrictions still apply...
