Our family has been watching a TV series called EXTANT starring Halle Berry and while the series may yet go nowhere, the EVs in it are interesting - mainly because they are mostly real ones.

EXTANT is set in the near future.
The main character drives a BMW i3, and the lead baddy - a Tesla.
There has been a glimpse of a Tesla SUV and various pretend ones, like a F100 truck that makes a whining noise and has solar panels on it's bonnet (just enough to charge the 12V battery IMO).

Like most EVs in Movies they make way too much noise.
I'll leave Gattaca for another post - or another poster.

It's kinda like the Star wars problem -
there's no noise in space but would be SH*& boring without the sounds.

Artificial Intelligence and Bicentennial man had the same problem.
I'm sure there are others. (iRobot)

Years ago I was told a story by a guy who was a Star Trek nut. During a convention in Melbourne, one of the Directors of the Next Gen series (who was on a panel at the front of the hall) was asked why we can hear the Enterprize whizzing past in the vacuum of space.
His reply: "We have very sensitive microphones.".

"where's he going the contactor is in the back"

Well at least they are trying.
